Personally I'd love to see us get a striker or winger with creativity to match Suarez... Someone else who we can be excited to see touch the ball and other teams will worry about defending against. I think our starting 11 right now is competent enough in each position, but we need something else at the top to inspire the others, create when it seems impossible (see: Stoke game) and creatively be able to take on the defense. I think we have the squad depth we need in terms of players who have the quality to play, so the small patches we're more likely to see aren't as necessary, but we need someone else to lead in terms of skill on the field.
Exactly mate......That's why i would like us to sign Jovetic.....The kid will become great, he's not getting as much attention as some other youngsters but he's got an attacking genius in him that can match Suarez. He's the only thing that's holding Viola up the table this season in Serie A. If you watch him play, this is guy has got the elegance of Zidane, the flair of Ronaldinho, the strength of R9 .....And it's actually possible as we have been following this kid for years.

I dreamt we signed Cazorla, was pissed off when I woke up and realised it was a dream.

I really wanted Cazorla over the summer. Unfortunately, I don't see him moving from Malaga anytime soon.
I'm hoping for a right winger. A few on my shortlist are Adam Johnson, Ryad Boudebouz and Marco Reus. While I don't think any are completely out of the realm of possibility, I would be surprised to see any of these signings over the January window. I don't expect anything much this window. For one, we spent a considerable amount of money this summer laying out the team. The team that's been assembled has yet to really gel together and play as a unit. Adding more new faces surely can't help that.

Re: January Transfer Window 2012
Two players becoming Bosman this summer might make things interesting. . . Berbatov & Cahill (Bolton). .
Now Berbatov (30) despite his age is a tremendous striker & might solve our problems for finishing for the next half of the season & maybe 2 more years!
Cahill would be a severe back up or starter in CB as Carra approaches his retirement!
Also another player in the mix is Drogba (33) but has reached his retirement days for me
any thoughts on this three??

Berbatov - No thanks.
Drogba - No thanks.
Gary Cahill - With Bolton fighting relegation, doubt if Coyle would allow one of his best defenders out. Plus we got Coates, Wilson, Wisdom and Kelly who King thinks is better off as CB than RB.
For a striker, Carroll is looking sharper. His movement, pressing and placements are better than what it was in April. Its a positive sign. He should work on his first touch. Its aweful. All he needs is a goal patch.
A CM/DM, AM, RW would be my order of preference. Move Henderson to the center. And we need a RW. If he stays in the right, we need an AM with Maxi as cover. Regardless, a CM/DM is a must.

Re: January Transfer Window 2012
Apparently there have been some reports on Lukas Podolski wanting to leave his current club . . .
Might be the answer for us . . at 26 i feel has the potential to GREATNESS!
I know i would have Messiakanino's backing but would like a discussion about it if "What if the ques arises"!

Re: January Transfer Window 2012
I seriously doubt we'll be getting Hazard now. Our best chance with getting a high profile talent is Christian Eriksen.
and I agree with Fahim 100%....Bring on Prince Poldi, the guy will take so much pressure of Suarez's shoulders. And he'll give us the goal scoring we need, he's on fire this season.

Re: January Transfer Window 2012
No chance of Podolski coming. :\
I could see us try and sneak a bid in January for Eden, but he won't join us.
Eriksen has said he wants to play in the La Liga, but we were in for him in the summer, so who knows? Suarez could convince him.

Re: January Transfer Window 2012
That list is for the summer, so we'd still have fees to pay in January (though they would be somewhat reduced).
DDR is very close to signing a new contract (if he hasn't already) so I wouldn't put him on the list.

Re: January Transfer Window 2012
Do their contracts end in January or in the summer?
EDIT: Thanks Red, I was one second late asking the question.
Anyways, i don't really fancy any of them, other than De Rossi of course....but i doubt he'll leave Roma for us.

Re: January Transfer Window 2012
Yeah. I see DDR signing a new contract.
I could see us going in for Flamini. Leiva's out for the season, and wasn't Comoli the one that brought in Flamini to Arsenal?
Would happily pay for Hoilett in January. He's got great potential.
Cahill will be a reliable back-up. Jamie's declining, could never be too sure with Agger's injury problems, and Coates is still growing.
Montolivo won't leave Italy (could actually see him going to A.C Milan or Juventus) but would be great in our pass and move.
I'll edit that in. Sorry. xd
