He is south-american, he must have creativity and technique. But he is far of Benzema in that department.

watch his second goal vs Espanyol and his first vs Chile then come back and tell me he is "far behind" Benzema in technique again.

Pipita is half the footballer Benzema is and that's a fact. Very good poacher though. He'll need a warm blanket in the next game or two to get him thru the winter as Benz returns from injury... bench gets cold over the months.

I think he is a WC player, I wish Arsenal had picked him up in the summer.

Re: How highly do you rate Godzalo Higuain?
Higuain has 5 goals with 41 % efficiency with 55 minute per goal ratio.
Benz has 4 goals with 21 % efficiency with 125 minute per goal ratio.
half the player of benzema is better

I wish Arsenal takes advantages of Madrid players just like other teams have, wish we can pick up few players.Give us few players and we will take out Barcelona in CL and you can win it.

in 2009-2010, Higuain had 21% efficiency. Benz had 22% last year. Gomez led everyone last year as the only player over 30%. Messi was in the same range as Benz to round out the top 3 most efficient scorers with over 25 goals.
4-5 games is not a sample size Adit.. if it wasn't you, i'd be a lot more insulting lol.

Sczy, difference is Messi doesn't miss as many sitters. Nor does Higuain.
I do agree that with our current lineup, a finisher is better. Also off ball movements are good against PTB teams so I'd prefer Higuain against smaller teams.
I like that we have 2 different strikers, they both have huge potential. Higgy can become RvN on crack while Benzema can become R9 lite

Re: How highly do you rate Godzalo Higuain?
Higuain is the bread in your sandwich, the ice in your drink, the ketchup on your fries, the rice in your chicken biryani and the biscuit cone in your ice cream.
On his own he may not get the job done, but he'll compliment the rest of the team and bring out the best in them as a result.
It's easy to dismiss what he does as easy but his style of play in simple yet effective. Not the star of the show but he'll help that star play better.

Watch some of the Benzema's goals for Lyon and then come back again.
And i am not saying Benzema is better then Higuain, i am just saying he has much more potential. Will he lived up to his potential, we will see...

Benzema with Lyon is irrelevant to me. Benzema with Real Madrid has yet to score goals like that.

They're both 23 and only apart by a few days.
To say Benzema has "huge potential", then you must say the same thing in Higg's case.

He must use his potential in terms of being more consistent. If he could play whole season like 4-5 matches he did last season, he would be world class. That is big if.
Higuain is ver consistent though, altough he can flop in big games.

Not true. Higuain is a poacher. He lacks creativity. Once you've maximized your skills, there's not much more to do unless you expand them. He's shown nothing to think he's looking to expand. Benz, on the other hand, has tailored his game to become a complete forward... he's scratching the surface of the skills he's developed. You cannot say at all that Benz is a finished product while you can clearly see that Higuain is getting close to his peak. Nothing to do with age.

What? He can still improve his passing and finishing. Just becouse you specialise at poaching doesn't mean you can improvise... Higuain was a winger at the beginning so passing isn't new to him either.

Problem with Benzema is he takes so long to get his game going and one injury or bad performance and your back at square one with him, waiting once again for him to wind up that clockwork mechanism in his back
It's frustrating to say the least because he does have alot of ability, with Higuain you don't have that problem and when he is fit he will bang them in no problems

Re: How highly do you rate Godzalo Higuain?
So, if one maximizes your goalscoring abilities... you can't improve other areas?
I'll use Gomez as an example. Not only has he maintained his scoring form, but he has improved his passing, workrate and you can even find him defending every once in a while. He's still young, too, so you don't know what else he can improve. Higuain has also just come back from a very serious injury.
It's not too hard improving other areas of your game, but natural goalscorers are the hardest type of player to find, unlike flashy wizards.
Higuain will always be banging in the goals, but Benzema will have to work very hard and most likely will never reach the goalscoring level of Higuain. Vice versa, Higuain will never reach Benzema's technical skills but in football I'd rather have me the guy who scores goals, IMO. He also fits Madrid's system better.

Re: How highly do you rate Godzalo Higuain?
Against big teams Benzema>Higuain anyday of the week. if we play Higuain against Barca we are dead. god knows how many times he will lose the ball just because of his poor first touch and lack of ball holding ability. sorry but it's a fact.
Balague said something last week about why Real Madrid should play Higuain instead of Benzema but imo he was wrong about 1 thing. we aren't that good in creating chances when our rival is parking the bus. just look at our draws and loses against weak teams in Liga. all of them played 1 type of football against us. we really aren't that creative as a team. so "we have Kaka and Ozil so we need a poacher as CF" isn't correct at all.
