How highly do you rate Godzalo Higuain?

the hell benz is 100 times the footballer higuain is.. granted benzema may be more skillful, technical and better dribbler, but higuain has excellent off the ball movement, positioning , work rate.. his passing is quite underrated too

Without service, Higuain completely disappears. It's happened in his last 4-5 starts because Madrid has had to play a more defensive midfield against tougher opponents.

You do realize that so far in the 2011/2012 season, Benzema has 21 goals and 10 assists in all competitions. He's so much more than a goalscorer. He actually acts as a playmaking forward when our midfield struggles with distribution.

Higuain has the talent to be more... but has settled himself as a 80% poacher. If he doesn't score a goal, he has very little impact on the game.

do not agree, higuain works so hard that he invariably forces the defender to make a mistake , for eg against the cska moscow gaME . in the build up to onaldo's goal, its higuain who forced the error from the cska defender and won the ball.. its contributions like these which go unnoticed but prove that he isnt simply a poacher

All our forwards are asked to defend. That's just a Mou requirement. Even CR7 is defending nowadays lol.

defending doesn't change Higuain's style or impact as an attacker. With the ball at our feet, he needs service. He's a poacher. He's a million times better than Chicha of course... there are better and worse poachers. But that doesn't change his game.

He needs goals to justify his existence on the pitch.

when did i talk about his defensive abilities? i was praising his work rate which often helps us pinch goals like ti did against cska

Higuain , to his disadvantage , cannot play centrally as a striker and hope to be a part of buildup.His 1st touch isn't there, neither is his passing.

But 100x footbaler lol? No way...put him on the right and he'll work wonders since he'll get more space for runs , less defensive trackers ore opputunites to cross.To me he can achieve a high degree of success just doing those things.

Higuain has around the same number of goals in half the minutes played.

Until Benzema's numbers are 100X better he isn't lol

Higuain turned up in the second half. Lets hope he keeps this form and puts his bad patch behind him.
