Uefa Asks FIGC For Clarification On Inter's Role In Calciopoli After Juventus Complaint
European football's governing body has asked its Italian counterpart to provide more information on their decision not to punish the Giuseppe Meazza side
Uefa's chief of legal affairs, Pierre Cornu, has sent a letter to the Italian Football Association (FIGC) asking for clarification on Inter's role in the Calciopoli scandal, La Gazzetta dello Sport has revealed.
Juventus recently approached European football's governing body to look into the FIGC's decision to revoke Juventus' 2006 Scudetto and award the Serie A title to Inter instead, as the Turin side feel their Milanese rivals were guilty of the same actions. Their position was backed up by the Calciopoli II case this summer, but no action could be taken due to Italy's Statute of Limitations law.
"Mr President and members of the Italian FA, you will find enclosed a copy of the correspondence sent to us on September 2, 2011 by the president of Juventus," Uefa's letter to FIGC president Giancarlo Abete reads.
"As you can see, Juventus complain that the Italian Championship title for the 2005-06 season was taken from them and argue that Inter had committed actions of a similar nature during the same season, protests that the latter have not received sanctions and invites Uefa:
"1) to comment on how the FIGC carried out their investigation into facts regarding Juventus and - in particular - Inter;
"2) to sanction Inter, pronouncing that the club does not have the right to participate in the Uefa Champions League 2011-12;
"3) to inform Juventus on the measures it intends to take against Inter and the FIGC;
"In short Juventus are asking Uefa to verify that the FIGC did their job well. In the first place, we have no reason to doubt this. However it would be useful if you shared your position with us regarding what Juventus have stated, in order to avoid any future misunderstandings.
"We would require a reply from you by October 19. Then we will decide on the most appropriate action to take. We thank you in advance and remain at your disposal for any further clarifications."
Although it is unlikely that Uefa will interfere in domestic issues, Juventus will be pleased to hear that the governing body is showing an interest in the matter as they continue to fight for the 2005 and 2006 titles that were taken away from them.

Oh shit, Inter will finally pay for it all.
And with Moggi and his tape that changed everything the other week, Inter is going to Seria C, lol not really Moggi was just talking out of his ass like usual.

Nor will Inter get thrown out of CL nor will Juve ever get its title back, Juve was never found innocent, only thing Juve is doing is trying to prove others were guilty too, that does not make Juve innocent, best thing that can happen from Juve point of view is 05/06 title gets removed from Inter and it will stay empty like 04/05 one.

Nothing will happen and nothing should happen at this time. Making one title unassigned is reasonable, however beyond that this isn't helping anyone.
Also Inter definitely won't be kicked out of Europe.

I don't understand why Juventus think they deserve that title back. They cheated and were punished accordingly.

We've already won the Berlusconi Cup and Inter won the TIM Trophy, lack of motivation in the city of Milan is no surprise

Re: Uefa Asks FIGC For Clarification On Inter's Role In Calciopoli After Juventus Complaint
I studied the whole case in Law school, and the only thing Calciopoli proves is how inefficient the whole system is.
In a nutshell,
The FIGC thought it is a good idea to have a good relationship between the Referee association and the football teams.
It turned to be a bad idea, why not punish the guys who won even if there win was not really affected by anything.
Simply put, the Juve team had the strongest players and the best coach. They would have won regardless. Sorry, but that is the case.
The whole scandal is not on Juve or Inter or Milan, it is regarding the awful Italian judicial system.

Damn, this is so embarrassing for Serie A.
Give the title to no one and concede that the league was a gigantic ****-up for a couple of years.

this has been going on since 2006, club x says something, then there is a hearing, nothing happens, then the next hearing is after 4 years, club y complains this time, another hearing.
in the end. Back to square 1

I completely agree that every club involved should've been punished. If Inter was also involved then the FIGC really dropped the ball when they failed to punish them as they did with Juve and the others.
However, Juventus STILL don't deserve their revoked scudetti back. They cheated to win them so why on earth should they get them back?
That makes absolutely no sense, brah.

Juve until 2006 was the most consistent club in EU and tbh it had the strongest team in Serie A ..... Milan was close to the others were light years away I mean common . Isn't it funny that only Juve was sent to serie B and yet Udine,Lazio,Fio,Milan were just punished with points for the same thing??? Common thats not right

No this does not make Juve look innocent, in last 5 years Juve is not trying to prove they are innocent, ALL JUVE IS DOING IS TRYING TO PROVE OTHERS GUILTY TOO.
