He's anything but overrated. He clearly has issues with the mental side of his game, but he is in no way overrated.

Well I consider mentality and personality when I consider how I rate players, and I think there are a lot of people who do not consider this when talking about Balotelli; that's why I say he is overrated by some.

Got it. The Cassano tendencies from his days at Roma are definitely there. The way he ran over to Mancini to celebrate his goal on saturday, while a nice gesture, definitely shows his immaturity and the difficulty he may face when changing managers and teams. That scene gave me visions of Cassano breaking down after Capello left Roma. I'm hoping that it's just immaturity with Balotelli and this will fade, but it's going to take a concerted effort on his part if he wants to become the best he can be.

Disagreed. Though I do some what understand you claiming he's overrated, not many outside of Italy(Italian football fans) rate him high enough. Some don't even know his name, the only way he's overrated is with the media none sense in both England and Italy. The media though should not confirm a player being completely overrated.

Mentality and personality, odd... Balotelli has some of the best personalities, I can relate too, in which I admire. Someone serious, someone motivated and someone who is prodominate. Mentaly, I can relate, but from what I can say, is that you can't even accept Cassano from that context. It's like saying you actually wanted Lippi's squad to be part of the World cup in the past, in which guess what, mentaly and personalty failed to go through, in which why I favor skill over those characterisitcs.

What everyone should say when they don't think Balo is going to perform with the NT is.

I think he will not do well, but I hope I am proven wrong.

Just a thought.

Bring him to Milan, he will change your mind.

To a degree. Mark my words and this is my opinion , mario will never do well for Italy. By the end of his career he won't have contributed much to la nazionale

That's my opinion anyway

but for what reasons may I ask?
truthfully curious

Yes, why? Because the odd thing would both your's and Fab's posts are that you prefer maturity, but yet you accept Cassano on the squad. Who yes is matured now, but still is Cassano, just last season he got his contract expired from Sampdoria, which is by far nothing worst than what Balotelli's has done, not to mention Balotelli has not done anything recently except done good for himself. Needless to say, it's mostly because of Cassano's performances that we qualified early on and why he should of been called up from Lippi. In which from your context as well, it seems you didnt want him...

Bring him to Milan, he will change your mind.

“Antonio did it all by himself. He became aware of his strength and what he can give the Nazionale. Mario is on the right track too. He’s a generous lad who is slowly finding within himself the way to put his talent at the disposal of his teammates, fighting for a single shared objective.

'Balotelli is maturing'

“The fans have understood him and now he needs to continue like this.”
