what on earth is he doing picking Barry and Parker in the middle for the game tonight!

Not as bad as it sounds, not like the other options are that great anyway. Wilshere is injured and Lampard is no better.

Cleverley is on top form and is the best option right now.

Fabio Capello is a worldclass coach, the man knows what he is doing surely.

Re: Capello
I'm more baffled by the fact he's playing Young as a CF. Such a limited coach.
He had Gerrard, Lampard plus Scholes and went on to waste all three of them by playing them out of position.
Who the hell plays 4-4-2 at International level these days?
EDIT: Also lol at a Barry + Parker CM duo. That's so embarrassing.

I think he is playing young just behind Rooney, and he will have Walcott and Downing on the wings, while Parker and Barry are the cm.

Re: Capello
Why play Young behind Rooney at all though? He's been fantastic for United so far this season out on the left then you go and play him out of position.
Why is Rooney playing as a #9* when he's been a total beast playing that #10 role?
Why refuse to call up Sturridge but persist with shite like Defoe and Crouch?
Why not give Cleverley a chance if you feel Lampard's getting on instead of persisting with average footballers like Barry and Scotty *bleep* Parker?
Why play Theo Walcott as a right midfielder when we all know he's going to be gash out there?
I would say the sooner he's gone the better but apparently 'Arry is favourite for the job.

Re: Capello
Villa tried playing Young off Bent last year and it was a disaster, we'll see how this works out with less of a traditional #9 in Wayne. Still think he should be played exclusively out wide.
A solid team out there today, obviously nothing special.

Don Capello has balls.
Benching Lampard was the best thing he has done so far.

Re: Capello
I still cant get over the fact that he played Gerrard at left wing and took fecking SWP ahead of Young for world cup last year
His selection decisions doth really surprise me nowadays tbhh.Man clearly lost it
P.S
It should be Jones who is playing in Cm ahead of Parker not Cleverly or anyone else.He is the only DM they have in the squad

Re: Capello
considering we won handedly...still wasn't impressed lost the ball to often...against stronger sides this line up would of failed, need more technical players in the middle who can keep the ball and create...

Re: Capello
Hate this whole English media business, we all know barry is useless but to be fair parker isnt too bad. Milner is just as bad as barry. The team tonight would of really struggled against some of the best NT teams around.
England couldnt even gain possession for a long time. The sooner the likes of carroll, cleverly, jones and wilshere get more games the better.

Enlighten us again with how many goals and assists Barry has for City and England in the 4 games he's played this season from his Defensive Midfield position please and then we'll try and determine if he is indeed "useless."

Re: Capello
Barry isnt a bad player when played as CM alongside a DM.But he is useless when played as a DM and he should be backup for Wilshere. His reputation is tarnished too much from world cup when he was used as a DM which was a stupid decision.
And Parker wouldnt get into any decent team yet he is a regular for NT.He shouldnt be anywhere near the England setup particularly considering his age and the position he is being played.
