Re: Mario Gotze
So finally they found out what the hell is wrong with him. A metabolism disorder leading to phlegmatic behaviour and fat slobdom.

Re: Mario Gotze
feel for him and hope he can recover from this
BVB and Gotze seem optimistic he can with the correct treatment
if he doesn't he may go down as the biggest waste of talent in quite some time
projected to supserstardom, scoring the WC winner..etc all downhill since

Re: Mario Gotze
You're an athlete for a living. How do you manage to get fat? I have metabolism issues too now and, believe me, unless it's acute, it's not really a problem. You just need to be careful. You figure out what works for you and then you stick with it. Takes some sacrifice... but I did it and I wasn't paid millions of dollars to do it either.

Re: Mario Gotze
lmao sports you don't even know what you're talking about.
I was making a joke.
The club statement says they found a metabolism disorder which makes it necessary for him to stop training ASAP. nothing to do with him becoming fat.
Metabolism disorder can mean all kinds of stuff, noone knows what exactly it is.

Re: Mario Gotze
There are over hundreds of metabolic disorders and until Dortmund do not disclose which one it is it is frivolous commenting or speculating on Götze, his condition and outcome.

Re: Mario Gotze
the only news I could find on him since he was sidelined is from yesterday..links to Loserpool, likely just lazy journalism
I hope he can recover from this because as it stands he's likely to go down as the biggest waste of supposed talent in my lifetime, like I mentioned before. But since the news seems to quiet on him i can only assume they haven't found out wtf is wrong exactly yet.

Re: Mario Gotze
There was news in Germany about him though.. namely that he didn't travel to Berlin with the rest of his team to witness the Cup Final, when even Weigl with a broken ankle came.
Instead he stayed in 'Bavaria to continue his treatment'.
BVB boss Watzke was quoted recently as saying "I'm under the impression that, after difficult weeks, Mario is starting to see the light at then end of the tunnel", and the club claims Götze is expected to return to the team in summer.
'Metabolism disorder'.. can't help but think it has to be a depression.

Re: Mario Gotze
Guys its mostly confirmed to be a Myopathy in which muscle fibres do not connect and function correctly to which signals the obvious and is quite dangerous at times. Specifically it hasn't been confirmed given many genotypes exist but obvious Götze/Dortmund wanted it confidential and I'm confident he will be back.

Re: Mario Gotze

Re: Mario Gotze
his career was derailled by injuries, we all saw the talent when he was young, and the performances too. Same with Reus. These guys were not like the overhyped youngsters of today, they were playing a CL final at 20 or what not.

Re: Mario Gotze
The Bayern move in connection with that mysterious performance-hampering muscle disease ruined him as a top prospect.
He's since been downgraded to a very good, but somewhat unremarkable, attacking midfielder. Think the German Isco. His career is not over yet, at all.

Re: Mario Gotze
He has been playing really well since returning, not finished at all. Reckon that once Dortmund settle with a new coach, he will thrive again.

Re: Mario Gotze
Goatse would flop in the PL and you know it, Jay Rod thrived for a season or two. If anything I'm being disrespectful to J-Rod.

Re: Mario Gotze
Reus, Gotze, Draxler, Schurrle
None of them managed to become elite
Yet all of them have a World Cup winners' medal

Re: Mario Gotze
Think he was coming off the bench when Dortmund had to play a proper BREXIT team like Spurs.
Kinda sad how far he's fallen. Would be a great player for Soton
