how the god of the week should be picked?
So how the god of the week should be picked?
Based on performance: a more serious approach where the best players/coaches of the week are nominated
Based on Hype: a more sarcastic approach where those who make the most noise in the forums get nominated
the result of this poll should define how the god of the week will be picked starting next week

Second option.
Serious nominations likely wouldnt work.
Trying to get praise for certain players around here is like trying to get blood out of a stone, while others can get nobel prize nominations for trying their shoelaces correctly.

Huh?
Why a poll when the winner is clearly Lukas Podolski?

Hype is awesome and makes god of the week special
Its also a reflection on how our stupid overhyping is at that particular week, im sure some of last seasons gods of the week flopped in the whole season.

God of the week is always based on hype, and is why it's so hilarious, and special, as mentioned above.
One particular week it might be BERBAGOD, the next, TITUS BRAMBGOD...and so on and so forth.
Besides, who rates players based on performance anyway?

well i posted a god of the week thread but there were some complains that it should be based on performance and not hype, so to be fair to everyone we should vote for which approach we should take. you know, democracy and all that

Hype.
If we do it based on performances then we'll just have Madrid and Barca fan boys at each other again.

50-50 I'd say.
If Clint Dempsey / Stefan Kiesling / Mauro Zarate / Frederic Kanoute scores a hattrick but doesn't get nominated because he hasn't been hyped up, well, that would be just stupid.

Hype all the way.Performance will never work due to bias.

Hype works best, performance based is boring and will lead to disagreements, and thus ultimately end up in the Right back section.

It should not be picked. God of the week threads sucked and were a posion tot his forum. Luckily, finally everyone got bored of it and it was stopped.

I don't even know if Barça players ever won. I stopped reading God of the week trheads after 5 pages of the firt one.
Even that, it become extraordinarily boring to read the rest of the forum as in every thread there would be people niknaming fotballers as "XXGOD or GODXXXXX" and saying things like "GODXXXX Ftw", "X team will win because they have XXXGODX". Etc.
And the last sentence is true, at least finally everyone got bored of them and they were stopped.

Well then you have to hype them up in order to get them nominated. Not by starting a stupid "X player for God of the Week!" because that's working around the system but by starting a thread along the lines of "Can Dempsey reach Messi's level?!" "Zarate is the next Henry" "Kiesling is the best German player in history" and so on. Some people will get that you're doing it for GotW hype, and some won't, and that is what will make it interesting.
As for the poll it's hype. But positive hype only. Negative hype should not be included. Also, the thread should not be posted until after all matchdays are done.

Re: So how the god of the week should be picked?
God of the Week was cool, would be sweet if someone took on the mission to bring them back. As long as that someone nominates candidates that have done something rocking in that week's games. After that, hyping some of them up is all cool.
