Yeah we need a thread like this we're kind of all over the place. Although our Transfer Rumors thread is the "most active topic" on goal legacy

Re: Barca Section Lounge
how about specific player threads.we already have them on messi and sanchez.it would help us to discuss individual performances on a match to match basis .and please no silly nicknames like they have in the madrid section.

Yeah, we can do the barça lounge. Don't know if it's a good idea to mix archives with news, in case you want to find some old video.
Btw, the Barça News thread I think is missing, it was moved to General discussion.

Apologies... the Barca News thread seems to have completely disappeared into thin air... I have no idea how to find it. Its been somehow deleted as I was playing with the stickies.
Anyway... I don't think it matters as noone reads old 'news' anyway. So from now on, simply use the new 'Press Room' thread for both news and match highlights.
Cheers.

Re: Barca Section Lounge
OK... first question here. I need some advice. I have an old Barca jersey with Deco on it and the numbers and name are almost completely worn away... I don't know if thats happened to you guys, but the printing on Barca jerseys really sucks. My Xavi one which is only 2 years old is already getting a bit worn.
Anyway, I found its pretty easy to just iron the edges back on, and instead of getting another replacement Deco jersey... I could just buy the numbers. I found the numbers online, and I could buy them.
Do you think it would work? Just iron them on myself? Or should I take it into a store and get them to use a machine?

Re: Barca Section Lounge
Anyone ever bought any ProStars? They're little football collectible figures. Kind of lame but I just got an ebay account and wanted to buy something so I got a couple.
Puyol-2006 Champions League Winner/Platinum Edition
and
Xavi- 2009 Gold Edition
The gold and platinum just mean they have those coloured bases instead of green, and there's only 150 of them or something.
Just wanted a few Barca collectibles lol

On the jersey issue, I would maybe look up online and see if you can do it yourself easily but if not just take it to a store or something and have it done.

Hahah, they are really a bit lame those figures, Kizz! Don't know about the jersey, be carefull, as they are plastic made, so never iron them at high heat or it will burn.

Agreed, if you're comfortable and confident with the iron (which I am not, lol) then I don't see why not. It would be best to find very specific instructions.

Lame... but I won the bid with 2.70 euros soooo... Basically I just wanted to buy something on ebay, never done it before. It was fun winning an auction lol
Yeah, if you keep the iron medium heat, and put a cotton sheet between it works, but I'll try to go to a sports store anyway.
Btw... I went to buy the numbers, but the person is trying to rip me off with postage of 15 euros...thats more than the actual product.

Re: Barca Section Lounge
Maybe we can talk about the upcoming games vs Napoli and Porto. Of course there will be a thread about them sooner or later, but we could have a little pre game now I guess.
I really havent considered the Napoli game, so dont know what to expect.
Porto I look forward too, seeing as I am in Porto right now.
Very eager to see the game, I think it will be exciting because Porto play positively and have some great players.
The dark side of me wants to see Hulk do well, but obviously not well enough to factor the game so we dont win. I can see him causing problems if we lose cheap possessions in our half and I honestly think if we play with a Jubalini ball he is more likely to score lol

Hulk + Jabulani =
Are you going to the game then Dani?? You must love Portugal btw, you're always there...
Napoli game will just be used as another run out. Not sure if Sanchez, Afellay or Maxwell are fit yet, but if so they'll all play.
Maybe something like this:
(Included Messi and Busquets because they still need fitness, then I expect to see Xavi and Pique in the 2nd as they need a run too.)
Looking forward to seeing Montoya, and I suspect we'll see players like Bartra, Muniesa, Roberto and maybe Kiko, Soriano or Tello...

Re: Barca Section Lounge
Do you speak Portuguese well Dani?
I used to be with a Portuguese girl back in high school, and while I can understand most forms of Brazilian Portuguese if it's spoken slowly enough, I could not understand a phrase when she spoke in her native tongue. Apparently it's so different from the Brazilian form she sometimes spoke to Brazilians in English

Re: Barca Section Lounge
No, not well. I understand more then I speak and I understand enough to get the jist of most conversations.
And yeah, Portuguese and the Brazilian form is different. But I dont think that different that you need another language lol
We was hanging out with a Brazilian guy last week, everyone conversed with him just fine. The only difference I can really asert is some individual words are different and some are said different.
For example, Vinte. In Portugal, its said much how an English speaker would say it.
But for Brazilians, there is a "che" type sound for "te" part. Obviously a Brazilian or Portugese speaker on here would explain much better then I.
I also get the impression that for example, banheiro is said in Brazil for bathroom, while in Portugal its cas de banho.

Re: Barca Section Lounge
Frak the general section... Bored today and there were some nice threads.
But I get this for claiming that I believe Llorente would do well in the EPL:
"So just shut up rather than being embarrassed by your ignorance."
Absolute disgrace... These guys are either PMSing or need to go and relieve themselves.

BeautifulGame... For some reason kept arguing Darren Bent was better than Llorente when I was never talking about Bent at all. He was sort of arguing a point which was inconsequential... All I said was Llorente would do great in the EPL... don't really care if he thinks Bent is better atm.
But apparently I need to shutup as I'm ignorant...

Carroll struggles against Anton Ferdinand, Llorente gives Pique the run around...yet somehow its crazy to suggest Llorente is far and away the better player.

Meh... its been funny arguing with him and slowly watching his PremFace emerge... Such a stereotype this guy. Clearly never watches La Liga, while I actually watch probably more EPL than La Liga...
Dani, while we're on this: Bent vs. Llorente? How highly do you rate Bent? Where would you place both of them on the list of current world strikers?

I like Bent, im convinced by him. He isnt too different from Etoo before he came to Barca and he toiled away at Mallorca widely unreognised as the player he always was.
Bent isnt that level, but the situation isnt that different.
I think him and Llorente are two sides of the same coin. Completely different players, with Llorente the aerial threat and elite targetman while Bent is the poacher with finishing who runs in behind the defence and makes elite runs.
I wont say who is better or whatever else, no point. I just think that each suit a different style completely and their teammates will dictate how well they can each do.
