He definitely has potential. His price is a little high, but this is the EPL. He has a good shot, decent passing stats and reads the game well. Seems like he is a very intelligent player.

Mate that was a joke i said that at the time. If iam honest with you i am still unsure of what his potential is but i dont feel any different about him now then i did then it's just he plays for another club now and i dont support him on a weekly basis.

I know Mole actually rates Hendo.

But since he is at the team with that fathead coaching them along with the rivalry factor, he is obliged to dislike him.

I can understand coming from the fact how I don't rate Fabio and rafeal.

Henderson will be a squad player for now IMO. Covering for Gerrard and Meireles . If he develops as a quality player with his potential in future he will be good replacement for Gerrard .

we were supposed to have been buying him, so utd fansites have been keeping an eye on him

and this isnt "oh lvpool signed him so hes crap" reaction, if you look at the threads, utd fans were genuinely nit impressed

he has no stand out features at all

All of a sudden, I feel much more positive about this signing.

16M for a 20 year old English talent who's been great for U-21 games with decent engine and intelligence and passing ability and room for improvement = #winning

United fans were calling Suarez poor man's Hernandez when he signed saying he'll get destroyed by PL's physical CBs...just read the thread on Red Cafe bounce

Henderson is nothing like Gerrard in terms of playing style IMO.

He's a lot more like Meireles or Lampard

I have my reservations about him as well. Unfortunately he WILL be judged on this price tag. He has a lot of potential though, IMO. His passing statistics are not terrible for someone so young. He comes up with the occasional shots and manages to make an assist every now and then as well.

I hope he does good, but my confidence in him is not very high.

It's the English market. people need to deal with it.

Yes, they are bought in an inflated price, but once they are eventually sold, it'd be again in an inflated price. Much like us buying Keane for 20M, and selling him for 15M, when his worth was a bag of chips probably.

Proven or non-Proven is not a fact...it depends on how you define it. Henderson for example has played 2 full PL seasons and has been part of all England set ups and he is not even 21 yet. Does he have to become a super-star before being confirmed as proven ?

It's all about how you define the word "proven"

Henderson has apparently played 2 seasons in the PL, IIRC.

This is England. Every English player's transfer price is inflated. One shouldn't judge them based on that price. However almost everyone will. Every transfer price has circumstances around it that make up that number. Carroll for 35 million wasn't because his performances speak to that value, for example.
