Italy's U21 side defeated Turkey 2-0 last night, a game in which Inter striker Mattia Destro scored two goals.

Caldirola and Donati - on loan at Padova - started in the back four, Faraoni was unused.

Nah, it's the youth team.
A reserve in Italy watches the game from the stands

Serie A badly needs a reserve league.

Remember Stevanovic? He's in Torino but we still own half his rights.

Primavera side: Three points behind joint leaders Chievo and AC Milan but we have a game in hand.

The Juniores Berretti (U-18s) coached by Sergio Zanetti are top of their league on 34 points after 14 games, having won 11, drawn 1 and lost 2, with 41 goals for and 14 against.

Giorgio Gatti's Allievi Nazionali (U-17s) also sit top of their league, three points ahead of AC Milan, thanks to 8 wins, 2 draws and 1 defeat from 11 games.

Salvatore Cerrone's Giovanissimi Nazionali are joint top of their U-15 league on 36 points, level with Atalanta and AC Milan: they have won 12 and lost 1, racking up 62 goals while conceding just 3.

he Nerazzurri Giovanissimi Regionali side (U-14s), with Marco Mandelli at the helm, are yet to drop a point this term: 16 wins from 16 games.

If we include also the Giovanissimi Regionali B (U-13s) team, Inter are unbeaten in derby matches against AC Milan in 7 categories, with 4 wins and 3 draws.

I haven't been paying much attention to Inter's primavera, however this site has all of the match reports and post-match comments from staff which should be able to give some perspective on the progress of individual players.

PRIMAVERA - Page 2 167525

From Europe to Italy, these babies have won all. After the victory in NextGen Series, here is the Scudettino.

Beat Lazio 3-2 with goals from Livaja, Garritano and Longo

Perugia – Everything can be forgiven on the field. He responded with a goal after a naughty play (a naive red card) against Palermo. Marko Livaja, the Croatian arrived at Appiano Gentile in January after playing a reserve role in Cesena, scored the opening goal and then hit the crossbar which was the assist for the second goal for the boys of Bernazzani. So the Primavera Scudetto now belongs to Inter: the last time they won it was back in 2007 by beating Sampdoria coached by Bollini with the goal of Mario Balotelli. This title comes after just a few months after the triumph in Europe, in NextGen Series. The Inter boys has won everywhere.

The key The opening goal of Inter came thanks to a flash by the Croatian but also from a huge mistake from the Lazio defense. Livaja was on the end of a cross but Zampa was hoping to ease the pressure by calling Berardi, goalkeeper, to get the ball. The striker was just quick enough to dribble pass the goalkeeper before putting the ball in the open net. A few minutes later Bessa suffered an injury: bruised right knee and the game for the Italian/Brazilian game director ended there. Garritano then was placed in Bessa’s position, behind Longo. A physiological change but ball possession for Inter started to drop while Lazio began pushing with more movements. But Inter always thought about Mbaye which swept the entire penalty box: he covered for himself as well as others. A monster. Bernazzani shifted Romano to make it a 4-3-3: an elastic trident with wingers. A blow came just before half time when Lazio equalized with the goal of Barreto. But Inter did not give up and once again, they took the lead. Livaja’s shot hit the intersection of the posts and it was rebounded by Garritano who scored with a header, the goal saw a lot of protest from Lazio because they complained that there was a foul on Sbraga. Inter were able to open the gap more with the goal of Samuele Longo. Onazi’s goal at the end was a bit little too late. Samuele Longo won the Morosini award as the best player of the tournament. But there were other bright spots such as Duncan who was brilliant in the midfield and also Sala, who had two good saves on Rozzi and Barreto.

PRIMAVERA - Page 2 Interprimavera

APPIANO GENTILE - Inter have just completed their second training session of the week at the Centro Sportivo Angelo Moratti.

After putting the players through an intense warm-up, Andrea Stramaccioni split the Nerazzurri into two groups: strength-building in the gym for the first and work on basic technique for the second. Five Primavera players were in the second group: 17-year-old defenders Fabio Eguelfi and Lorenzo Paramatti, left-back Marco Ferrari (18), and midfielders Davide Moreo and Lorenzo Tassi (both 17).

Highlights of the game against Dortmund.

Inter dominated the midfield while Dortmund resorted to playing long balls from the back. Though Inter haven't looked offensively great, they've been great in the games and have carried on from where they left last season.

Good to see..Offensive problems dont worry me that much since they lost Longo and Livaja (not exactly easy to replace)

He was mostly hype, that guy. I fell for it, expecting him to be the next Balo.

Longo and Dell'agnello, especially Longo are the real deal imo. Saw him in preseason, kid got skills and speed. Versatile the way Gasp likes it, too.

Just watched some replays of last seasons Primavera team
.......Hand to god that team would beat our current first team if they played tomorrow

They may not turn out to be stars (or even starters) in the end, but Longo, Mbaye, Crisiteg, Romano, Duncan, Benedetti, and Bessa have all done more than enough to have earned their shots at serious first team playing time next year...especially considering some of the mehhh were currently fielding

Duncan vs Virtus Lanciano

Great performance...loved the variety in his play

Livorno getting into the promotion playoff at a minimum, Duncan has 18 apps for them, 15 of them starts since Jan 26

Novara (Bardi) in the playoff as well
