Anyway, why do you say
chelsea "beat" barcelona @ the bridge? If you're going to say that why say that Inter beat us 3-1? Referee mistakes go both ways you know, but you're a Barcelona hater/Mou lover so I guess when they go against Barca it's best to ignore the ones that go against Barca I suppose.

Parking the bus, isn't attacking, or not nearly as much as Catenaccio, but don't get me wrong I'm not saying that either is very much attacking at all really, but more of counter attacking.
there has yet to be a barca fan that doesnt go and try to defend their team and their thinking. defensive defensive.

They deride the managers of teams that beat them, like Jose Mourinho, as managers who rely on defensive tactics to win "ugly" against the team.

However, as Tom Drisdell explain's excellently in his article, the Catalan Myth is indeed nothing more than a myth. Sure, it can be called attacking football, but beautiful, it is not.

More often than not, the neutral supporter has seen himself bored to tears as Barcelona complete pass after pass after pass, dominating possession but doing little else until an opening presents itself.

When the opening goal is scored, the Barcelona loosen up and dominate the game, pounding in a number of goals; but until that goal is scored, the game is slowed tremendously and turned into a contest of patience—with Barcelona usually succeeding.

Mourinho does not rely on such boring tactics. His team is disciplined, but they know how to play attacking football and get the job done without having to bore spectators until the first goal. Real Madrid's 102 goals in the 2010-11 La Liga season can attest to this.

Mourinho gets his reputation for "ugly football" for the manner in which his Inter Milan team beat Barcelona over two legs in the 2009-10 Champions League.

There is no denying that the tactics employed by Mourinho in those fixtures were defensive, but there is also no denying that those tactics were necessary as the Inter Milan team of 2009-10 was a less talented team than the Barcelona team of 2009-10.

At Real Madrid, Jose Mourinho now coaches a much more offensively gifted side, and now generally plays attacking football that yields a plethora of goals.

Yes, defensive tactics are still used against Barcelona, but that is because Barcelona's possession football is designed to suffocate attacking football, giving Real Madrid and Jose Mourinho no choice but to adjust, which the team and coach have done fairly well since the first Clasico of 2010-11.

Yeah, perfctly written..... pile of bullshit!

Only a Real Madrid fan or someone who is butthurt by Barça in recent times will agree with that post actually. No more than 5% of world pundits would agree.
you are being defensive, looks like my opinions on the internet make you angry even if im not attacking you..

its a defensive mechanism i say

:lol!: You really think that saying that people who is arguing with you is "being defensive" really helps you at all in the discussion? It's an argument to your favour or anything?

I'm discussing stuff, it's you that get personal saying that I'm crying or that I'm defensive, both things completely false. You just can cope with good arguments, proven many times. Goodnight son.

TMO stop being so ignorant to every point a Barca fan makes just because he's a Barca fan.

I myself gave nothing but neutral points and never ever mentioned Barca in anyway but somehow you decided i did'nt understand because iam a Barca fan so my opinion ( despite the fact my posts were identical to Jibers) i must be wrong and not understand the thread.

If anyone is defensive its you.

And please dont accuse me of being defensive when i have nothing to be defensive over considering i have only discussed the topic at hand and never mentioned Barca at any stage before this post.

I wasn't bashing barca, they are one of the best teams of all time ffs, that speaks volumes in itself, what annoys me is how they are the appearant standard bearers of free expressive football when they aren't. Guardiola for me is a genius, the man's coaching ability is second to none. I that there is no such thing as anti fooball, teams play to their strengths and look at the oppositions weaknesses, Barcelona never have to do this because, let's be honest, they are a clear level above every other team ande rightly so.

you can rephrase that into poll option 2 i think Razz

after all the main point was to come to that point where we all learn the answer and we have done that...

Fair enough, iam still confused at how you took my posts as....

Defensive, not understanding the thread when all i said was that i prefer to see goals than 0-0s

And that there is no absolute correct way of playing football and that all tactics and playstyles have their place depending on the players you have.

You asked is there a correct way of playing football?

I respond with posts like these and get responses like you dont like defensive football and you are a lover of attacking football....

I genuinely dont see where you get that from my posts and that is all i was trying to say because iam certain you didnt understand what i was trying to say and was trying to get you to understand.

@Xabi

Barca is my Spanish team and have been as such since Bobby Robson was thier coach.

Guardiola for me is a genius, the man's coaching ability is second to none. I that there is no such thing as anti fooball, teams play to their strengths and look at the oppositions weaknesses, Barcelona never have to do this because, let's be honest, they are a clear level above every other team ande rightly so.
