Seriously though, Götze is insane, and a new Öziliestessi in the making, or rather: he'll be the first Götze. And his name is gonna stick by itself. motherfrakker is 19 for frak's sake.

Re: Goetze the New Messi: Beckenbauer
Of course Sahin was better last season. Götze was a 18-year old and Sahin the captain.
The fact that Götze even made it top 5 is in itself crazy.
Where were Schweini, Sahin and Özil at 18?
Not constantly starting and certainly not leading their teams to anything.

Spot on Khaled . They said their dream was to play in the Camp Nou, so that they can celebrate their win with Real Madrid against Barcelona there .Khaledbarca wrote:Mario Gotze (Borussia Dortmund): "My childhood dream was always to play at Camp Nou. It's fun to also watch teams like Barcelona or Arsenal"
Kagawa & now Gotze!
----------------
Ozil & Van der Vart said the same words, one year later they played for Real Madrid!
Back on topic, past players/ legends of the game should stop making frikking comparisons to existing players. It's putting pressure on the players to change their natural style in order to become closer to somebody else's, which destroys individuality in the game.

Re: Goetze the New Messi: Beckenbauer
Fronz didn't really mean it that way. He didn't say that Götze is the new Messi or that he's as good yet. He simply said that both share a few traits and characteristics (such as being led by their natural instincts and almost always doing the right thing intuitively).
He also didn't say that Götze plays better than everyone else. He said that it is "not possible to play better" than he did last Friday, indicating that it was a flawless performance, which could be pulled off by other top players as well. He basically just said that Götze has reached top level, where he can display perfect performances, not that he's the only one in the world to do so or that he is above everyone else.
Of course, the national and international press take bits and pieces of Fronz's words, twist them around or mistranslate them as usual. Beckenbauer saying that Götze is the new Messi or better than Maradona or the greatest player on Earth and Jupiter is better for their sales than him simply praising a player's performance and level of play.
Either way, as far as tomorrow's game goes, Jogi said that Götze will most likely play from the start and in Özil's center/AM role. I think that's the role that suits him best, however, with him it doesn't really matter much, since he can play left, right and center almost equally well and usually drifts around and interchanges positions with his team mates.
I hope Löw allows him to do that, because when Götze played 45 minutes versus Italy, he was supposed to play on the right flank and stick to it no matter what. Once he drifted slightly into some space in the center, you could hear Jogi mindlessly shouting at him from the sideline, urging him to stay on the right.
I thought that was utterly stupid. Restricting your most creative players' natural movement is a bad idea, especially if the restriction simply happens for no other reason than sticking to a stiff formula. In the German NT, there's plenty of players available to play a much more fluid, progressive system. It needs guidance, but it also needs to breathe. In the future, I hope we'll see the infamous Göziller line alot. Özil, Götze and Müller can all play each position in the offensive line, be it left, right or center and they should be allowed to work with these abilities.
Tomorrow, Özil will be missing, but I'm hoping to see some nice interplay by Götze and Müller. Maybe Schürrle and Reus later in the game as well. I'm hoping to see Götze getting settled in quickly and not being restricted in ways that - well - castrate his abilities. With the right treatment, he's on his way to being good enough to permanently make the starting line up already; not only after the Euro.
