yeah man,its sad that neymar,casemiro,lucas and coutinho get all the attention while oscar has been a beast.Easily the best midfielder in the u20 WC.

Even this guy now plays for Wales he is still, technically, of my background. He was born in the same town I was.

Freddy Eastwood, former Southend United player (local club), now playing - and horribly, I might add - for Coventry in the Championship. In his Southend days, he scored 49 goals in three seasons and helped them acheive two conseuctive promotions. Those were the days...

He also scored this goal, which you may or may not have seen.

Yes, but in Saudi where he lived then, it was not possible for him to join a professional football club in Saudi, or join the NT, since he was Shia.

I made an old thread about this with the whole story but the gist of it is:

1-The old man was at 13 the best player in the under 16 tournament, and stayed so for 3 years.

2-He was also the best player in the under 21 tournament.

3-He was offered semi-contracts (youth teams) with Milan and another club (Atalanta I think), but grandfather refused because he did not consider football serious. (those contracts came about because Italian engineers watched him play and called some contacts).

4-Father went to university and did not get to play professionally ever.

Ritchie Humphreys plays for my home town club Hartlepool and holds the all time appearance record for them. Played over 250 consecutive games for the club and scored the winning penalty in a shoot out that took Hartlepool to the League one play off final.



Used to play in the Premier League for Sheffield Wednesday as well.

Shia Muslims are a significant minority in Saudi. They were an still are heavily discriminated against. Although it is less so now.

Because the Saudi government are paranoid, and think the loyalty of the Shia is to Iran. What they don't understand is that if you discriminate against someone, you will not gain their loyalty.

Of course, the fact the Shia are concentrated in the east, where all the oil is makes the situation very tense.
At one point, killing Shia was considered okay in Saudi. Even now, people from central Saudi thinks that Shia have tails, and participate in huge orgies 10 days a year.

In fact, some teacher of mine (who did not know that I am Shia) swore to the class that Shia's don't die. He said he saw some Shia guy get hit by a car, and flung into the air, and then walk away like nothing happened.

He's 23 now, agile,very skillful,playmaker,free kick specialist and of course his seal dribble lol
