When important players have bad spell, its really hard for the club because it takes big balls to rotate them with in form players.

He really was dreadful in the 2nd half to be honest bizarre considering he was alright in the 1st.

I'd personally drop him for McEachran but that obviously won't happen.

Over time, this was always something that was naturally going to happen. You can see that Lampard undoubtedly has some of his ability still in him, but his overall game is not what it used to be.

He no longer has the ideal pace for a midfielder at this level. Because of that, he is useless to Chelsea if they want to play a fast tempo and attacking style. He would just slow the game right down.

I don't think Chelsea should sell him. As I said, he still has some ability remaining in him. Chelsea should keep him: using him within more on a sort of rotational basis, like Man United have with Giggs and Scholes in more recent years.

Pretty much right.

If you look at his positions for the games he has played, you'll see he has been playing a holding role with Ramires ahead of him. Plus he doesn't fit our system, unlike Torres (don't how how he destroys us, Crimson :facepalm:

And LOL at that he can't pass, he's been making good passes to the wings to Mata, Sturridge, etc which he's assigned to do in a pretty much holding role.

Hard to argue with any that. I think Mata will eventually take over his role by the start of next season once we bring in a winger.

It's obvious he's declining but I don't think it's now at a point where he's now become a hindrance to the team. He struggles to get shots off these days unlike when he was in his peak, his passing isn't as sharp and incisive as it was 2 or 3 years ago and I don't think he still has the stamina to be constantly getting into the box & feeding off scraps but he's still a very good player in my opinion.

He made two great passes tonight where he would have gotten two assists against any other keeper, he had the most touches out of all other players on the field and his general passing was much better than it has been in any of his last 4/5 matches. His goal was vintage Lampad as well.

Lampard is still a top class player imo, just doesnt fit the new system at Chelsea and that's not his fault. If I were him I would push to move to another team that does fit his style since he wont have many years left at his A game...he must make these years of his career count and Chelsea currently doesnt seem to be the place for him

Man's a legend imo

He can't produce those types of performances that he was producing now, no matter what team he is in. Another team won't use Lampard like we currently are, plus he's respected here, so this is the best team for him.
