Re: Jesé Rodríguez - The Future
He's going to back up Cavani at PSG. Emery publicly stated that they're after him. Given how crap Cavani has been lately, he may even get a chance. The problem is that Augustin is right there too and he's better than Jese. So it's not a better situation for him.

Why would he go from Madrid's bench to QSG's ?

He wants to change air. Unhappy at Madrid apparently. Emery is really good at coaching up strikers too... look at Bacca and Gamiero under him.

Re: Jesé Rodríguez - The Future
the wind has it that Liverpool are interested in him. I say go to Liverpool even if the pay is half of psg. klopp is really good at developing talents. plus I don't think liverpool have players that could easily bench jese.
sturridge is always injured so he has a shot. we should sell him with the option to buy back in 3 years if that is possible.
psg have players that are obviously better than jese and it would be stupid to go from Madrid's bench to psg's bench.
I feel he also has a big role to play in the Spanish national team's reformation with his direct style of play. he will make the team rightfully abandon their boring slow impotent passing game that has expired since 2012.
this talent must not die by all means.

Re: Jesé Rodríguez - The Future
You guys love to make up stories!
He is going out on loan or a sale with buyback. Zidane has said he wants underdeveloped players (that he likes) out on loan playing much more than will riding the bench at Madrid. It's taken until now for Jese to be convinced. There are several clubs in Spain, Germany and the UK that are willing to provide these conditions. There is more money involved with the EPL clubs although my understanding is Real are about to renew his contract so salary will stay the same regardless (unless it ends up being a sale with buyback). The club prefers the loan so that if a transfer ban comes into effect he can still be brought back (not the case in a buyback).
The PSG interest is an outright purchase plus it obviously is not meeting the requirement of playing time. So I doubt if anything will come from this rumor plus Emery is already looking at their own in-house youth options and at this point likely Augustin is a better option.

Re: Jesé Rodríguez - The Future
Not true Bill... PSG want experience. Their top option is Lacazette so they can groom him and then sell Cavani next summer. The second option is Jese... and they're pitching him the same thing.
Here's the link:

They're offering to pay Jese like a regular.

Re: Jesé Rodríguez - The Future
But Sports two things wrong with that (for Madrid and for Jese)
the playing time isn't guaranteed
PSG wants to purchase, not the loan or buy back that Madrid wants (and likely Jese as well). It will come down to how much they will offer Jese plus he needs to get some assurances re playing time.
and actually there is a 3rd consideration. Jese is still the 19 year old underdeveloped player. He really hasn't progressed in the last 3 years and needs to prove himself, which he won't be able to at any big club.
I sure hope someone with futbol knowledge advises him. What Zidane offered is as good as it gets. If he goes to PSG for the money, he is setting himself up to be another Boyan.

Re: Jesé Rodríguez - The Future
I don't think it's really up to Madrid if Jese asks to leave for PSG... and I think it's getting to that point. We still owe them from releasing Carlo from his contract. If the player wants to go to PSG, from what I've read, we won't stand in his way.

Don't disagree, but as I said earlier, I just hope (for his sake and club) that he gets some proper futbol advice. taking money to go to another big club is not the best (career futbol wise) decision.

Re: Jesé Rodríguez - The Future
The thing is... Cavani has been downright horrible and there very well could be an opportunity. Even if it's not this year, Cavani turns 30 in Feb so PSG may very well move him if Jese seems ready.
More of an opportunity than Madrid can offer for sure. At least there's a possibility.

Re: Jesé Rodríguez - The Future
The main issue I have with this, is I view Jese as a winger not a CF. all this talk about PSG seems to be as a 9?
I still think he ends up with a loan deal to a smaller club. Espanol are dying to get him and given how Asensio is looking and year before Lucas and before that Callejon, it's is a club that has been good for Castilla players.

Emery in an interview with Le Parisien:
PSG's interest comes after Z publicly said that Jesé should look for playing time elsewhere because he's not going to get it at Madrid.
I know Jese well and he is a great player, signing him is a possibility.

Re: Jesé Rodríguez - The Future
My opinion is that he is a good 9. He's fast, quite strong and presses well. And when his head is in the game he can beat players. I remember his header that hit the bar against man city. That would have been a top class finish, just one instance.
But it's never happening here at Madrid.

Re: Jesé Rodríguez - The Future
He is a winger not a 9. He hasn't progressed since his first year (at 19), in fact, he has probably regressed from his pre injury days. He does have potential, I believe everyone will agree with that, but he needs to play as a starter to properly develop. If he goes to Psg to sit on the bench (with the hope that Cavani will fail), he is moving from one bad situation (for him) to another. Jese has always been an independent thinker, but if he does this he is ruining his possibilities of developing IMO.
There are other teams out there in Spain, EPL and Germany, that will take him on, agree to loan deal and give him starter minutes. Plus the club is willing to renew his contract to allow him not to be in pursuit of the highest suitor.
Apparently with PSG, it is none of this. They want to purchase him, have him be backup to Cavani.
This kid needs a proper advisor.
As to him leaving because of what Zidane said, the club has been saying that to him (as Zidane said as friendly advice) since June. The backups are Morata, Lucas, James and / or Asensio. The club prefers tp keep him, that's why the proposed loan.

Re: Jesé Rodríguez - The Future
Jese is all but gone. He was kept out of the game yesterday as a precaution so he doesn't get hurt in case a transfer is forthcoming (according to Zidane). There's even talk of his medical being tomorrow in Paris. Transfer amount of 20-25 mil.

Re: Jesé Rodríguez - The Future
I am happy for him. i just hope he gets playing time. even if we do not insert a buy-back clause, he is a player i see us purchasing even if he is worth 80 million in 3 years time.
I also dont see him refusing the offer because he cant say madrid dint treat him well.
Zidane did his best and showed him he trusts him, but we have an immovable front line that will remain that way for at least 2 more seasons.

Jese to PSG almost done. Something I didn't know... buyback clauses are illegal in France. So Madrid cannot have one.
According to RMC, Jese is finalizing some personal terms. The deal would be for 4 years and a club option for a 5th.

His contract was going to expire next summer, the part that sucks is that we don't have a buyback clause, i know they don't have such clauses in France but man, i think both the club and Jese got it wrong, Jese chose a bad destiny for him, he won't be starter and the Club should have sold him anywhere else

Re: Jesé Rodríguez - The Future
25 million was NOT a rip off. i feel its even a bit on the high side for psg. jese could turn out to be a beast for them, but i'm not talking about 'potential' or 'what could possibly happen', i'm talking about his career at madrid so far. and so far, i'd say we sold him for a more than acceptable fee.
he's a bench player, a bench player who doesn't really have a specialized role; some say he's a lw, he produced his best football for us at rw when bale was out, which even got fans asking if he should bench bale, until that unfortunate schalke injury; and some say he should play cf. then you look at the numbers and he isn't exactly lighting that up
25 mill for a bench player, who isn't even the second choice (lucas took up the second choice slot from him) is a damn good deal. what upsets me is, i liked jese's football well enough to wish we could have sent him elsewhere and gotten him on a buy back, rather than selling him outright. with the right one on one coaching, he can develop into something special. he's bold enough to go at players 1 on 1, someone like wenger can get something out of the kid....but it wasn't a rip off.
you think ordinary jese should be going for more than 25 mill? cut it out. i'd say based on his career so far, you sell him for like 10, and its 10mill only because he's still young
