So unbelievably happy at the Cisse signing, now i hope we dont sell no one and look forward to rest of the season with glee.

I just remembered something I forgot years ago.

A friend of my father's (well, friend to my family tbh) had gone to China on a business trip. Upon coming back, he had bought a lot of very very cheap (but very decent looking) football jerseys. I was too young at the time, and had not really followed Barcelona- I was too young to care for football at all except for playing it, young American kid such as myself, nobody had put on any importance for caring about it, so I never did until later, yet I digress.

I got a Santos jersey, I had no idea who the hell they were at the time.
My older brother who played football got a Flamengo jersey.

My father, however, got a nice looking Newcastle jersey. Too big for him (odd because he is not the skinniest man Razz

) but a good jersey nonetheless.

This just popped up in my head randomly, and thought I would like to post it somewhere, where else but the Newcastle United thread!

No, my father isn't a NUFC fan! He is neutral, doesn't care enough to watch football other than the weekly EPL games we get on Saturday mornings almost every week. But I'd love to say he does prefer watching Barca more than most teams Very Happy

A 29-year-old man has been charged with criminal damage at Newcastle United's stadium after its old name was painted on a wall.

There was outrage on Thursday when workmen were filmed removing the St James' Park lettering from the famous ground, which has been renamed the Sports Direct Arena.

Overnight the old name was daubed in white paint close to where the lettering had been removed.

More workmen were seen on Friday morning removing the paint.

A Northumbria Police spokesman said: "At 1.57am today a man was arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage after a wall was vandalised at the Newcastle United ground.

"Michael Atkinson, 29, of Hareydene, Newbiggin Hall, Newcastle, has been charged with criminal damage and is due to appear before Newcastle Magistrates on March 7."

Newcastle United announced the name change in November, ending almost 120 years of history.

However, the city council has said it will continue to use the St James' Park name, as will large sections of the Newcastle fanbase.

The football club declined to comment on the incident.

Douglas is the Twente CB, supposedly a physical beast, great in the air and quick ( fits a Colo partner like a glove)

Also yes Pieters was a target and was very close to joining but we cud'nt agree a fee alot like the Cisse situation actually we tried for him last summer but we couldnt agree a fee so we waited until January and then got him for cheaper ( according to our head scout we bought Cisse for 8m)

I believe the same could happen with Pieters. Also about Santon recently its been revealed he was bought as a young defender for the squad and long term he would be RB and Enrique still hasnt been replaced yet.

I presume Pieters is one of the people they are looking at to replace Enrique.
