Re: Spain is the Future
Spain squad for friendly vs Chile (2 September) and Euro 2012 qualifier vs Liechtenstein (6 September):
Goalkeepers: Casillas (Real Madrid), Reina (Liverpool), Víctor Valdés (Barcelona)
Defenders: Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid), Arbeloa (Real Madrid), Botía (Sporting de Gijon), Albiol (Real Madrid), Domínguez (Atlético de Madrid), Montoya (Barcelona B)
Midfielders: Xavi (Barcelona), Iniesta (Barcelona), Xabi Alonso (Real Madrid), Javi Martínez (Athletic), Silva (Manchester City), Cazorla (Málaga), Thiago (Barcelona), Busquets (Barcelona), Cesc (Barcelona).
Forwards: Mata (Chelsea), Pedro (Barcelona), Villa (Barcelona), Torres (Chelsea), Llorente (Athletic), Negredo (Sevilla).
Puyol and Pique injured, Navas, Capdevila, Marchena are also missing from WC 2010 squad. First call-ups for Botia, Dominguez and Montoya. Midfield is simply WOW.

While I don't like your insult towards VDGod, I do 100% agree with you here as some of his omissions are tiresome.
Edit: you forgot Vila

:lol!: Its kind of bizarre no? Bt tbf he is better than Angel and he started at RB for U21 instead of Azilicueta. Potentially he's better than all of those names, but its really strange nonetheless.

Re: Spain is the Future
Agree with Che. This Montoya kid should be amazing or calling him up is a silly decision.
Glad Negredo got a call up and Soldado should be there as well if you ask me... (LOL Torres)

I think its been proven in the past if you dont play for Madrid or Barca you have to be pretty special to keep getting called up...
I am certain that Jose Enrique if he played for Madrid or Barca would have 50+caps by now.

Re: Spain is the Future
Agree with that he will be a serious step up from Arbeloa offensively and he is more suited to spains game.

Defensively he's a rock aswell at NUFC he hardly ever got beaten 1-on-1.... 8 times all last season to be exact compared to Ashley Cole's 25 he pretty much owns the whole LW.... his passing, dribbling and close control is great aswell the only thing id argue he need to improve is getting to the by-line alot more often and improving the consistency of his crosses.
How he does'nt start for Spain purely based on ability and performances is beyond me but its obvious the club you play for plays a big hand in a call up to Spain.

Re: Spain is the Future
As I said, Enrique is the 3rd best LB in the EPL and has been for a long time.

Re: Spain is the Future
On current form he's the best to be frank but on consistency and ability of many years at the top level Evra and Cole are above him....
Having said i felt he was the best LB in EPL last year, no one else impressed me defensively and offensively quite like he did.
