Yes, but who brought them there, and then, who is the place named after?

Who is to say the U20 coaches were any better?Immaculate_Mole wrote:BarrileteCosmico wrote:Argentina won the most amount of U20 titles ever, especially over the last 20 years. We won our last senior side title 18 years ago.
What does this tell you? That youth success is not correlated to senior side success.
Or that your coaches are sprinkled jelly donuts ?

Yes, although everyone hates him for destroying the incredibly successful and effective structure Pekerman created.

But, do you remember France, I think in 1998 they won the World Cup, then in 2000 they won the Euros and everyone knew for certain, that with all their talent, they would win the World Cup in 2002. Did not happen.

Re: Spain is the Future
Excellent Thread. I'm starting to like this ultra barca guy Khaled.
Espana truly is the future as with guys like Alcantara, Munian, Mata, Fabregas, Busquets, Silva, Azpulicueta, Azpilicueta, Javi, Ruiz, Vila, Ander, De Gea, plus the other names along with the younger bunch, we make brazil look like Sierra Leone (sorry rodney).
One more thing.... The future is more Basque then anything.

As much as I love Sergio, I am usually very good at predicting youngsters outcome as he has all the talent in his feet yet I am very skeptical on his development so far by Madrid as a loan to a mid table club would do him well. But have a bad feeling about it.
Kudos on the mention on Sarabia as he'll take our national team by a storm. Can't wait to see him in the first team.

Arquitecto you're an Athletic fan, right? This might be a little OT but it somehow seems fitting at a thread about spain's future. What do you make of Bielsa so far?Arquitecto wrote:

I'm only a liverpool and Milan fan. But..... I support Basque football philosophy and its clubs so that means I'm 100 percent behind the 2 main basque clubs which are Bilbao and Sociedad (the club of my city and my paternal families club). Osasuna? They do not endorse the basque philosophy enough as most clubs from Navarre generally don't. But yes I do follow Bilbao.
Bielsa? I am 100% behind him as I am a fan of his tenures in Chile and Argentina as few coaches these days are as innovative as him. Bielsa has so much conviction his methods (some rather unorthodox) in what he does, it transcends to his players. From what I have heard from family and friends alike, he has already fitted in to understanding basque football and philosophy with Bilbao and intends to expand upon it with his managerial skill and proficiency as it is about time Bilbao receive a coach who possess the ambition and competence to compete with the rest. He has already made his leadership known among Bilbao and has results even in the pre-season by beating Catania, Southhamptom, Bremen, Alzira as the next match is with Spurs.
In short, Bielsa is the man Bilbao and the basque generation has been waiting for and will be a success if he can withstand the challenges of truly utilizing basque football.
Malaga? pffttt.... Bilbao will make the Champions league next season.
