Watching the Emirates Cup now, I can comfortably say that live games on television do not do the atmosphere justice.
I can barely hear the drums being played by the Boca fans, but in the stadium you could hear them loud and clear from the other side.

Arseblog just tweeted that Henry apparently can't play for us this afternoon, because it'sa tournament and not a testimonial.

Only news so far is that Thierry Henry is starting for New York and will be the captain.

--------- Wilshere --- Ramsey -------------
--Gervinho --------------------- Rosicky --
---------------van Persie -----------------

Re: Emirates Cup 2011 Thread
I thought the tempo of the Arsenal/New York game was a bit too slow from start to finish. New York were playing a 4-5-1 and had everyone behind the ball bar Henry and it was pretty casual stuff from us, though we did create chances in the first half.
Second half was where we messed up. Far too casual in our passing and not enough urgency or desire to really kill the game. The fact that this is a pre-season game is the only excuse for this, but still it would have been nice if Arsenal had seriously tried to get another goal or two in front of their own fans.
The team hardly put a foot wrong defensively the whole game but you have to concentrate for the whole 90 minutes. We didn't clear the corner well and Henry played a great ball in behind, but the players in the box completely switched off and let the runner in behind them. The ball he played across goal is one that's very difficult to deal with and it was unfortunate for Bartley to turn it into his own goal. Not much else he could have done with that.
If we have to blame anyone for that goal, then it's the person who failed to track the runner in behind. And the whole team should be blamed for not trying hard enough to kill off the game.

I'm just going to tell myself we got screwed out of a penalty in both games so that I can maintain confidence in the team...but god dammit I want us to kill Benfica next week!
