Gervinho
What do you guys think about him as our potential signing? Wenger has been in france for a week and i really think Gervinho would be signed by this week

Re: Gervinho
I would rather get Hazard then him. However he can be our first potencial signing, and hopefully not the last.

Re: Gervinho
Hazard would be prefered by far, but I wouldn't mind him. He's a good player, too. If he can be gotten for a decent price I'm all for it.

Re: Gervinho
Uh! No please, no.
Gervinho will be a typical Arsenal signing! We have Arsha, Nasri, Walcott, Rosicky (yes maybe one or two of them will move) but something juz doesn't add up when I think of Gervinho as a Arsenal player..
I don't know if it's the speed and/or physical nature of English game which he'll find hard to adapt to something, but no! Juz no.

Mehh ... Arshavin is gone, Walcott is propably going to be a striker next season, Nasri (ya know), Hazard could be a very interesting choice, and i am very sure that he would fit as much as Arshavin is adapted. I am skeptical regarding Gervinho.

Agents are known for being lying assholes... so we'll never know until it's official.

Re: Gervinho
Newcastle were the other team to apparently have a bid accepted, but Gervinho doesn't want to go to someone who isn't in the Champions League. Arsenal is apparently his preferred destination regardless.
I don't know much about Gervinho, but I have faith he'll do well as Wenger has a very good track record buying attackers from France. £12,000,000 isn't a bad price either, and we could use the extra depth on the right and up front.

Where???? even though he's right.
@ Sushi you are right about that.
I still expect him to go somewhere other than Newcastle but we will have to wait and see.

I honestly doubt his quality ... but as srigooner stated he is a bargain.
For me Hazard would be more needed at arsenal

Re: Gervinho
We all have been waiting for Hazard for a couple of seasons, at the very least. The kid went on to extend his contract. Chances are, by the time he's up for sale, his price would be around 20-25mil at the very least. No way Wenger is breaking bank on him them. I hate to say this, but I don't think we are going to see Hazard in our colours.
Besides, in 2-3 years time, when he might become available, we'd have Miyachi, Silva, et all coming back. Unless there is a need for a WC winger then, don't think there would really be a need to break bank.

Re: Gervinho
For me this hastens Nasri's departure, from when I have seen him play he is out on the wing, cuts inside seems more direct than most of our players. Reminds of Ryan Babel, if he gets the consistency he'll be great.

Ashley Young is leaving why aren't we going for him?

Re: Gervinho
Wenger won't spend the money on Hazard, and it'll probably end up being a "We could have signed him" situation albeit I'm pretty happy with Gervinho. We've been crying out for more direct, pacy wingers, and I think Gervinho fits that mould perfectly. He's fast, direct, good finisher (from what I've seen) and grabs quite a few goals, and I'm pretty sure Wenger wanted him before this summer so he must see something in him, and le prof rarely gets it wrong in the forward department, from time to time he does but I'll put my trust in him.

Re: Gervinho
Very over-priced since he is english but he'd be an outstanding buy since he is already proven in the EPL.
