Also this season is showing under different coaches n styles of plays, obvious effects result, but its always been clear Lewand is top, hes just lost some physical abilities due to age... I just laughed when EVERYBODY was saying he was past it last season.

Also I remember EVERYBODY rated Touameni when Real signed him, but he either was overrated, or regressed? At least stagnated n didnt improve, which is strange for a Real player in this era?

Congrats Myesyats! Barca is indeed much better than expected and Flick has made a huge difference over Xavi. The team is essentially an academy team which is good news for Spanish futbol as is Barca’s improvement for la liga and possibly for Spanish teams in Europe. The continuation of the early success is very much dependence on injury avoidance and over use of the kids.

We on the other hand have our hands full with several issues despite having a talent overload. However the season is just beginning, we’ll see how this team turns out over the next several months.

As to Nico, you obviously didn’t hear his interview yesterday! You base your entire opinion on his friendship with Yamal. He has never said he wanted to go to Barcelona, only the persistent statements, from others (likely your tier 1 sources), stating that. I’m willing to bet that Nico will not be joining Barca in January!

We already have several key injuries. Once Gavi, Araujo, FDJ, Christensen are back I expect further improvement

Add to that Ansu Fati who Flick seems to have a lot of confidence in

Flick is a very good coach whose Bayern was not a fluke. Xavi is a utopian idealist and just doesn't evolve as a manager and wilts under such pressure.

Barça are in very good hands.

Rewatched the game n gotta say, Olmo has been really surprising, I mean his vision n final pass is tops, his general game seem good also, n yet to see real weaknesses but time will tell without being too demanding Looks a million times better than Ferran n thats a huge relief already

My personal favorite player of all time, tied with Modric, with Zidane, Bellingham, Benzema, Di Maria, and Schweinsteiger filling out the rest of my top 6 in some order or another.

As I have written in other posts in the past, he is my Schweinsteiger, and also a sort of Requiem for what Di Maria represented to me. The transfer I've most rued, a transfer that extraordinarily enough, James Rodriguez was nonetheless supplanting functionally enough for his first 7ish months with us.

Anyways, at 26 y/o and with his already impressive CV with Madrid, my Fede is already assured immortality amongst Madridistas, I just hope this savagery version of his--where you can see an increasingly refined technical and tactical maturity along with a healthy amount of remaining physical exuberance--lasts a few more years before he settles down a bit more positionally.

Fools on the internet (i.e. Twitter) are barely now starting to suggest that Fede as an all round CM (starting from the left)/LM is the way to go, I've been saying this since at least 2017. To my recollection, because of how Lopetegui, Solari, Zidane, and Ancelotti opted to use him as an RCM or RM (because of the impossibility at the time of benching Modric, Kroos, or Casemiro and because of how Valverde has been such an influential "system bridge"/workhorse type of player from the right midfielder zone ala Di Maria that has been key in two different Champions League finals already for crying out loud), aside from a few minutes here and there in the 18/19 season where he played a few mins as an LCM in pre season games and some Copa del Rey and La Liga minutes, today during the second half was the first time he's ever been deployed as an LM with Real Madrid. I think he's played Champions League games against Man City in 19/20 as an LCM and against Union Berlin for example for a bit as an LCM, but nothing like today.  

With his trajectory, this guy will surely be remembered as one of those crazy "playstation players" as Diego Forlan once described him, the type that youngsters 15 years from now playing Ultimate Team after a typically wasted day at middle school will ask who he was, and they'll get to see for themselves.

So Mbappe starting to find his explosiveness again... and his touch. Putting in a lot of effort in this game and got a brace.

Re his touch... he's not a 9. So his touches have been designed to push it into space where he can run on to it. As a CF, he has to play with his back to goal and the touches have to be tight to you... not into space because there are multiple defenders that are very near.

It's not as easy a move as people make it out to be. Winger, even an attacking one, and CF are night and day. I personally think his talents are wasted as a 9. The solution is to play a 442 with Vini/Mbappe up front so you're not really playing 9 but a two striker system. Once Jude and Cama come back, it would make sense. But i feel that Carlo really wants to give this 433 a chance. Personally, i think it fails in the end. Other than Vini, the other two are playing out of position.

N so Real are off, congrats to the titles already, only took 3 games for the doubts to subside
