Yeah, not sure about these ominous warnings that make Bilbao sound like some dangerous organized crime outfit If someone triggers the clause there is nothing they can do about it. It already happened in recent years with Kepa, Laporte, and Herrera.

I remember Martinez having to "break in" at night to get his stuff. Llorente was also abused. Bilbao don't take too kindly to players leaving but Herrera is now back and I am sure loved again etc. Nico will definitely get booed but I don't think his family including Inaki will be targeted as revenge. Such a shame Inaki decided to stay. Hope Nico leaves, they deserve to be seen on a bigger stage.

It’s a trade off between Vasco and Catalans! Both bad IMO. Actually in today’s environment, I would take Vasco. ask Arq.

What I think you are missing is Bilbao is in CL and is in good financial shape now. You don’t know if Nico wants to leave or not. That’s what was being said yesterday, that he has been put under pressure to answer questions when he is saying he wants to concentrate on Euros.

I think Bilbao is unique in this sense where they think it's ok to abuse all players who leave them. Especially home grown. There are other Spanish teams that have treated those who left them with a barrage of abuse but that's because they have joined a team which they dislike. Seems to be a LaLiga problem

The entire Vasco region is unique plus remember Bilbao only has Basque players. They have a lot of pride, feel they are not handicapped by this choice and believe they not only have the players but the financial capability to compete with the best. It is similar with La Real. But they aren’t as adamant with having or keeping Basque players. Nor are they as strong financially.

If Nico does want to leave, he will have to make a statement after Euros are finished. If and only if he makes such a statement, will I believe it. These statements from media and Laporta does mean shit!

Barca is positioning itself to activate the release clause after EURO final and Flick is pushing to make it happen - per most recent reports.

Every media is saying the same, including very reliable Barca sources, Nico isnt paying attention to any other offers from PSG or EPL

Morata is an average Striker but he does have quite an impressive CV. He only plays for big clubs. Sort of giving the Ibra vibes but a lot less lethal

Morata didn’t score in this Euro but he did make a lot of things work for the team. He is also did a lot of team bonding, as captain. Carvajal was speaking about this the other day. He isn’t a great striker, but he isn’t terrible either.

He’s been there longer than both of them. Carvajal missed out a few times due to injuries. That’s the tradition in Spain. By all accounts though Morata took the responsibility serious and did a very good job. He also make contributions on the field, just didn’t score, nor did he get a lot of opportunities. In de la Fuente’s tactics, there were a lot of dummy runs to create space for both Nico and Yamal.

I. just wished De la Fuente subbed in Joselu rather than Oyarzabal. Joselu may not be a starter, but he knows how to score when given the opportunity. Oyarzabal imo is more of a winger.

But for next WC, i doubt if Carvajal, Morata, Joselu, Navas will be there. That means, we have to find a real striker(s), better backup wingers, RB (i have hope though that Carvajal is good enough in 2 years time, in which case a backup RB. Other than that, I think it will be mostly the same team.

Carvajal made his debut on September 2014, while Morata made his debut in November 2014. Even if you go by seniority Dani would be ahead of him too. Morata is wholly unfit to be a leader of a team. He is neither the best, has leadership skills or the most senior. If you think he was a good captain then fair play but I wouldn't even have him in my top 10. This is a guy that cries every 5 mins lol

As I said previously Carvajal missed several times due to injuries. It is continued time with team. Dani will no doubt be captain next time around if he continues or it will go to Rodri. No one in Spain is upset that he was captain, we won the Cup and there was good chemistry, camaraderie on the team, that Morata had a lot of influence in that. The only complaints I heard was his lack of scoring, he was wastefully offside on a couple of occasions and the fact that when he was taken out, it wasn’t Joselu going in.

@Myrsyats, the pressure has already started in Bilbao. The only way you or any of the 4 EPL teams after Nico, will get him unless he declares he wants to leave and will pay the exit clause (the money would come from club buying him, but he has to pay it). In Bilbao they say he is not leaving. That they spoke with him in the past week as well as with Unai and Vivian and are saying all three are staying and are essential to their run. That’s why all three were signed or salary increased in past year.

De Ligt is easily the best young CB I will die on that hill. Criminal how he's being phased out by Bayern.

Whats more sad is that he moved to United out of all the clubs and coached by someone with no vision and ambition.

You may have a deal with Lille, but Yoro has a deal with RMad and won’t accept a move to EPL. He may or may not go this year, it depend on Lille accept something less from Madrid or lose him to Madrid in a year for nothing.

Would Casemiro be happy with a bench role though?
