I get the market is inflated but this guy is worth nowhere near that much.

Price is high but its basically the market rate I reckon.. when many average Joes are going for 50-60M, Alvarez is elite so it makes sense... what doesnt make sense is he would wanna join such a defensive minded coach... I hope his game doesnt suffer or affect his NT form...

If Hojlund can go for 70M after scoring 9 goals in Serie A, then Alvarez going for 80M shouldn't bat an eye.

Why do Barca always have problems registering their players

Never heard of a team having problem registering their players until now. Maybe I just never payed attention but it's pretty funny at this point lol

Because they are broke. No matter how Laporte and Tebas try to sway it, they are essentially still bankrupt, no matter how many levers as they call them, selling off future revenues, they are basically in the situation were they have to sell to buy (& register players). All this talk about Nico and others always depended on sales and they just aren’t happening other than low value sales. They are fortunate their academy is producing useable players. More than half their roster is academy.

Everyone seems to assume they will be second in liga, but I have doubts due to 1. No bench, 2. They will burn out or lead them to injuries, let alone the pressure they put these kids under and 3. I feel Atleti has had a good off season and they IMO will be 2nd IF Simone gives his offensive players the freedom and opportunities to succeed. And lastly I’m hoping Nico and company can give them a run for the money.

It's actually common in la liga recently. A couple of other teams aside from Barca have some issues registering their players including Betis and some others that I can't recall right now

it is true that a lot of the squad will be reliant on more La Masia graduates but on one hand its not a bad thing, I see them ready and very well prepared: Bernal, Casado, Fort, Valle, Cubarsi, Martin - very young but with great quality beyond their age.

I think it is very likely that we will loan Cancelo again, and maybe another signing can come.
