Re: Euro 2024
Rather impressed with Spalletti's start to the Euros.
Calafiori is a gem he needs to be snapped up by Milan before Juventus and their Italian fetish get their poverty hands on him.
Barella is Barella. Was insanely good last Euros so not surprised there.

Re: Euro 2024
As for the tourney favourites, England is my easy favourite. Ridiculously packed squad. They are to win mark it.

Re: Euro 2024
And how England aren't using Tomori is an absolute joke.
Southgate it must be said is a mid-table manager at best. England need a top level mind to use this golden era.
And English travel fans are a joke. I swear only Australians are worse with their alcohol but at least they are fun with it the English frequently disgrace themselves all over Europe and have a terrible reputation

Saliba starting for France, they might actually win this tournament. If you somehow get past Kante, there Saliba will be waiting for you. GG.

I don't know why it was said Saliba is overrated last page for me he is the best CB in the Premier League.

Re: Euro 2024
Well, the commentaries during the game were always on about Salibas mistakes Tbf, maybe have too high expectation on these French defenders cos they are so good... but I guess all of them are mistake prone for some reason too... I dont watch Liverpool consistently, but seeing Konata again on the bench after all these yrs... lol... if he were any other NT he would start every game?

I'm afraid to be priced out of Calafiori after the euros. Him and Bastoni are so talented in the center. Barella continues to be better and better, truly the main man. There is so much talent in this team that time is the main enemy as Spalletti only had a handful of matches. I was surprised at how fluid the movement was in the first match.

Arda Güler is the first teenager to score on his Euros debut since Cristiano Ronaldo in 2004.

Saliba was very good yesterday. Made 2 mistakes all game and Kante was there for one and Maignan covered the other. Very very assured.
In fact, defensively, it was very good. Austria only got 6 shots, with 3 on target, all game despite France allowing them possession as is the tactic. There were very few dangerous situations period for Austria. The defense was good... but the midfield was spectacular despite Griezmann not having his best day. Rabiot and Kante just bossed. Hernandez was a menace. I'm not sold on Kounde but whatever.
It really should have been 3-0. France missed sitters.

Re: Euro 2024
Portugal seems a bit like France also, so stacked but just lacking some edge n team chemistry overall... Leao seems a little like Dembele, so much power but need to fine tune his end product? And strange how Bernando seems to be better for Man C than NT? Maybe its Pep factor like Foden?
Mbappe hopefully will play just dont risk fighting for headers n wear protective mask... got him on top scorer bet ffs lol... otherwise prolly Deschamps cautious as always n rest him till KO stage?

Maybe out none. He's questionable for next game but definitely available for Poland. Just depends on whether he can practice normally on Thursday.

If he puts in such performances he will be priced out for all clubs by then. By this point it's better that Italian players grow abroad rather than this transition phase of Serie A.
Barella is incredibly talented but the lack of midfield control this time around is bothering me for the engine room. I don't see Italia going far this time for Spalletti indeed has not had time for his system.
Congratulations for your Signal Iduna trip it looked fantastic.

Re: Euro 2024
France prefer to allow possession for counter attack opportunities. So when the other side won’t attack either… it becomes laborious. Shame given talent level. But the results make it hard to criticize…. Very old school Serie A style.
The only time they went all out on the attack in the last Euro… Switzerland surprised them. Won’t happen again.

Re: Euro 2024
Its a great shame considering their bench XI would probably be favorites to win, and not even counting all the talent that couldnt be called up- they have the widest squad by far.

Re: Euro 2024
Nagelsmann certainly produces entertaining football, the most impressive thing about his teams seems they make runs non stop all game n dont seem to tire much... suddenly Im liking Germany more n more whereas traditionally I never liked them for some reason... but this exciting attacking football is much better to see

Re: Euro 2024
^ same, said to myself during the game earlier today: this is the most fluid and watchable football they've played since... what? 2014? and i don't even think they were that fluid during that WC, they just had some solid world class players throughout their team at the time that controlled games more than anything else... i think you can even argue the football they played in 2010 was better than 2014.

Re: Euro 2024
Whats wrong with this Croatian team? The defense is a complete mess. The keeper made blunder for the first. They looked completely gassed out by the time they scored the second. Albania deserved to win tbh
