It feels like a crazy stat, since August 2020 we had not been 1st, even temporarily like today.

Max is actually turning this shit around with a squad that is significantly more incomplete than Inter's. With Pogba and Fagioli's suspension we are desperate in midfield. We are a good midfield signing or two in January from a scudetto challenge :coffee:

Not been 1st since those bizarre times when all sports were re-starting in empty stadiums after covid's first wave, that's a crazy stat

Hopefully our solid defensive work is sustainable until the winter mercato. Then we must sign a midfielder and ideally we also sign a forward such as Gudmundsson from Genoa who's legit and low cost.

Last night's win at Fiorentina was beautiful. Allegri parked the bus and the players interpreted it beautifully with Bremer, Gatti, and Rugani clearing everything out of danger.

25 shots from Fiore and pretty much none of them was a clear chance, meanwhile Miretti scored his first Serie A goal.

It had been a while since Allegri was happy at the end of a game lol

Allegri is very strange. He plays the ugliest football I've ever seen but it's not like anti-football, it is just aestethicaly displeasing for some reason that I can't quite work out.

It works though.

When he had a world class team in his first stint at Juve he played great football. Then it seems like as the team declined he focused on trying to minimize mistakes above all else, I think that is what you see as well.

So its strange, its not open, but its usually not Mourinho or Simeone style park the bus tactics. Its just very cautious and conservative stuff.

I don't think he trusts the squad at all to succeed over a league season while playing openly. Every once in a while he will try to play an attacking game, usually in a big match, and when it fails he reverts back to the previous way. He doesn't trusts them to make the right choices consistently enough so he tries to restrict the amount of choices they have to make.

The result is that it looks very boring but effective, given the relative strength of our squad.

That sums it up pretty well

We can't do much with the ball because execution is lacking. Consistency in defense is the only way to success for this squad.

Makes zero sense how he turned into a cautious manager given his Cagliari played genuinely some of the best football I saw in Serie A for a decade.

His problem is his lack of conviction in his own ideas and sometimes players. A distinct flaw but genuinely hope for him to score the UCL next final he reaches if he does.

Bruh i thought Vlahovic was out of the lineup, wtf at worst he should come in at half time, we've wasted many scoring chances already

Kean has become completely inept at football

Aside from today Kean is in good form, the best out of the Juve CFs. Poor today though most were even with a win.

Rudi Garcia replaced with Mazzarri.

I rate Rudi but he fizzles out often and if he doesn't hit stride he...doesnt. Not the best stint of years for him as of recent.

Mazzari is a backwards move as he thrived on that team and the obvious trio he had but beyond that what has he even done?

And is an utterly insufferable and bitter person to hear and watch on the sidelines.

Napoli clearly hoping to reignite that old glory but I dont see this working.

Is Campagnaro still playing? I don't know if Mazzari can coach without him.

I would have went all in for Conte if I was Napoli, maybe ADL got a nostalgia trip with Mazzarri but he probably forgot that man was mostly carried by Lavezzi - Cavani - Hamsik magic.

Vlahovic is such a great striker, I was hoping Allegri would leave him on the bench again and I knew Inter were in trouble when I saw the lineups.

I have no idea what Allegri is smoking honestly, he's been shafting him for years.

In the meantime, Lautaro strikes back, very clinical this season.

Hows Juve been lately? Only know Chiesa and Vlahovic been good... the fact that Rabiot been like their best consistent player for ages says a lot too? Seriously I always rated him though Razz Not sure but the likes of Mckennie still doing well it seems? Cant always help but feel when I watch the Serie A games it just very physical, loads of fouls n stops as usual... but do feel the pressing and defensive tactics are very good, prolly resulting in less 'good' football to be played n enjoying to watch?

Allegri always has this ability to form a very complicated relationship with his young star players, Dybala a huge example. Pato was one too.

It involves challenging them which also involves lets of benching, tinkering the position and bursts of serious form followed by drops in which the player & coach form this deep love hate relationship that is akin to a troubled son to his father. It ends up either in disaster or the opposite. Very drama involved and if we're being honest a bit unnecessary.

But the ones who speak for him clearly would die for him. Vlahovic cannot be wasted here.

I like Vlahovic and we are not creating many chances for the strikers, but lets not pretend like he has been amazing and everyone else is letting him down.

Against Inter was probably his best performance of the season. Not just because of the goal but because of how he played. He tends to isolate himself and miss a lot when it comes to linking up and getting the ball forward. His move for the goal was the opposite of how he has been lately: tracked back, got the ball and made a beautiful pass to launch an attack.

He needs to do that consistently.
