Having said that, very concerning signs from Argentina. They very neatly gave away a 2-0 lead against Australia and they did it again today. Inability to close out games is not a trait of WC winners.

I can't believe Messi finally delivering in the knockout stage. eat my words said earlier today. Also, the moment I saw Lahoze yesterday on Twitter, I got panicked and that became true.
I can now forgive them for bottling that 2-0 lead-up to the 84th min and appreciate the mastery and beauty of the second goal of Netherlands, that damn needs practice a lot. Remember Argentina did something similar vs England in the 98 WC I guess.
Also, it's time to appreciate Martinez, knew he would do something in the penalty shootout.

i wouldn't say neatly tbh... the Australia goal was a deflection, and the Dutch first goal was just a really really good goal... great cross, great header, nothing you can do about that... before that they were absolutely coasting

but yea the way they lost their cool after the first Dutch goal was concerning, they need to sort that out
