You think mexico would have challenged them lol
There's maybe 1-2 teams currently who can challenge France, on a good day
This match probably would've looked very different if you had scored on one of your earlier chances. I think there are definitely more than 2 teams that can challenge France, but morale and momentum are often decisive factors in international matches, similarly to the Champions League.

Those were great finishes by Mbappe, but I really don't understand how he was allowed so much space. He could've literally spun around 900 degrees before that first shot and he would've still had a ton of space to shoot before the nearest defender could close down the space around him.

Cagey game until that first goal. England have picked them apart after that. Bellingham has been amazing

I am just watching the for Bellingham. He was kind of invisible at the beginning but he seems like he was one of those players, who will find ways to influence the game.
Mind you, he seems to be the one playing with most heart out there for his nation.

Foden with 2 assists tonight. Hope that means Sterling isn't starting no more.

Can't believe what I am seeing, England are actually playing good football whenever they go forward through Kane

He really is. I wish he was a Real Madrid player, but my gut feeling tells me that he'll end up at Liverpool or Man City

That was actually very smart of Pep to get rid of Sterling. Somehow he has stagnated.
With that said, do England have the best in depth squad in the tournament? But their first XI behind the likes of France, Brazil.

Re: World Cup 2022 - Last 16 Round
Englands pressing was amazing today. Very Pep like. Senegal couldn't get through in the second half
Foden is smarter on the ball than Sterling. You could tell how England's level went down when they started subbing on Mount and the likes. Can't believe Southgate started the tournament with those players.
France against England is going to be huuuuge. Can't wait as a neutral

England with much better showings this WC compared to the euros or 2018. Southgate is adapting to his squad and the players have grown.

I don't see it as clear as that but they do have a better defense imo and an x-factor in Mbappe which England don't
Lots of surprises so far so you never know, i didnt expect the Senegal game to go so smoothly either, thought they were gonna score at least one

Am I the only one who thinks France look better without Benzema ? Somehow I felt like two big egos in one team was an issue or in general the team seems to be better without him

If Southgate couldn’t get past Croatia or Italy I think France will be far too much for them. There is still nothing to suggest England are capable of beating big teams.

Kovacic is exactly the same player that left us all those years ago. What a dissapointment! I'd thought he'd develop his vertical game but nope

One of the more dominant keeper displays I've ever seen in a penalty shoot

Good God wtf was that from Japan. I could kick better penalties than that. They deserve so much more. Small margins in WC unfortunately
