Re: Europa League 22/23
Yeah good result. Not conceding in the home leg is always a big boost. Diaby had minimal impact today and that's key as well. Need to contain him again next week. I think it's going to be a different proposition.

Juve
Is it the Conference League thread too?
I need to say that Fiorentina-West Ham looks like a Cup Winners' Cup final in '60

Re: Europa League 22/23
I hesitate to call that Mouball, but it was such an ugly yet effective display that it really does check that box.
Sevilla are the kings of this comp though and I can't remember the last time we've beaten them. Gonna be a rough final.

Roma end up shooting themselves in the foot here. Too limited in the end.

Re: Europa League 22/23
Honestly, I'm not at all mad. The Romaverse is having a meltdown over the ref decisions, but we had 4 clear chances and only took 1 of them. Gotta convert at this level against a side like Sevilla who has done it all in this comp.
The longer this game went on, the more it favored Sevilla.
As for the penalties, if only defenders were brave enough to step up and take the shots, then so be it. The shots were garbage obviously, but that's going to happen when the team isn't mentally ready for this type of pressure. Mou's done the Christian Lord's work to get this team's in the right mentality, but this just shows there's more work to be done. He simply ran out of time this season.
Gonna be an interesting summer. The "tear it down" crowd were gonna be loud regardless, but now they really have a reason to be.

Re: Europa League 22/23
The only thing that worries me is whether or not the board will invest more in the squad. Winning the EL and participating in CL may have prompt the board to spend more and at the same time bring the allure of playing CL to any potential transfer targets. That's mainly the biggest gripe I have with this result.McLewis wrote:Honestly, I'm not at all mad. I mean if the Friedkins don't see what can be accomplished by a great coach and less than 20m spent in the market, then they're not the right owners for this club. Mou getting us all the way to another European final on such a small budget should have them completely all-in on the possibilities. They've shown themselves to be rather astute decision-makers thus far so I think they got the message.

Re: Europa League 22/23
Love it
For its Mou n nothing against Roma obviously
But his tears n verbally abusing the ref post match was PRICELESS
Mou will stay Mou, sore loser n just low. Didnt watch it but read on the cules forum his football style wasnt good as usual, but I guess credit to him to bring Roma to a final after all
Sevilla proves again how wins in a clubs history prolly helps the players A LOT in these games, otherwise there is no logical explaination for the amount of times Sevilla n Real have won these finals, Sevilla even more crazy think I read they won every final. Also Spanish teams has won all the CL or EL finals since 2001 which is 18 in a row ffs. Its all about mentality n maturity.
