Leeches is an interesting take as no one forced Barca to sign and agree to a contract with either of those players.

We like to harp on players honouring contracts but me thinks clubs should do the same as well.

also Chelsea's new owners got the go ahead with the stipulation that they have to invest something like a BILLION on transfers and infrastructure improvement over a certain number of years iirc, they also apparently don't have a proper structure in place so are just operating like noobs, but its one of the reasons they're seemingly not bothered about overspending on these scrubs

So Umtiti whomst Barca recently offered a contract extension in January, has his new contract until 2026. His market value according to transfermarkt is 2m whilst his highest valuation was 70m. Now supposedly, he's going there on loan as i try to grasp this Catalan mechanism for money laundering, Barca will cover his gargantuan salary whilst Lecce will pay 0.4 pesos for each appearance or some such equivalent. Lecces in no way is able to cover a transfer fee or offer him a competitive salary.

Why did Barca extend his contract then? Why this obtuse deal? I was begrudgingly reading a, surprisingly, non-United article on the Athletic about Barca. It was mentioned that Barca are looking to define or develop a new type of agreement between player and club in order to register Kounde before La Liga. Now, unless the terms are slavery, or Barca manages to sell La Masia to Netflix. Because Juve ain't balancing their books for Depay as they go ahead for Milik, and Chelsea seems to not want Auba for 30m.

Unlike Barca's the current Juve management is working with some sense of fiscal responsibility.

Depay would have been something like the highest paid player in Serie A if his demands in the media are to be believed. I wish we didn't sign Milik, but I also don't want Depay on massive wages and to be stuck again in the same situation.
