Classic Kommander

One man ghosts his way out of the CL. Another one steps up to get his team charged for the crucial run in

No contest

Outplayed United start to finish but absolutely horrendous errors on the defensive end from Reguilon and Doherty. What a shame.

Outplayed is quite a strong word. I did not see that. I saw spurs dominating possession but never making threatening moves. Even with a gift from maguire they couldn’t capitalize and create clear cut chances consistently. Strange to not credit Ronaldo for the 3 goals, it was he who made the difference but United as a team play better, and Bruno being out of the team is a positive for United imo.

Quite frankly I’d like to add it’s not purely a Ronaldo thing. It seems to be without Bruno the team has much more cohesion and balance. Pogba is a net positive for United and has variation in his passing and skill, versus Bruno who’s a gunslinger and turns over every opportunity, for one goal or assist

I always hated them playing together for Portugal. One is a poacher who doesn't like playing as the sole 9. The other is a SS playing as the #10.

Bruno is such an annoying player. There's ZERO patience with him on the ball. Every time he gets the ball he thinks he needs to create a chance with it even if he's next to De Gea. He has KDB's worst habits 10x.

He is a bit different to what I expected
They play narrow formation but during the press full backs don't push up to engage (near side midfielder shifts across to cover)
As a result they are quite easy to keep the ball against

Doesn't help that the likes of Mings and D.Luiz can be unreliable in possession or McGin only able to play at limited angles
Plus the profile of attackers may not be most complimentary of each other which is something that should be addressed in transfer window

Cas my thoughts exactly. As Firenze said pogba didn’t have the best of games, and yet the team looked 100x without Bruno on the field. KDB actually has a pep to reel him in (despite the two goals against man United he was doing his best Bruno impression that day.. but second half he calmed it down and city really should’ve scored a ton more. Simply by effect of De bruyne chilling the hell out and keeping it simple at times).

I feel for pogba man. He gets shafted at defensive midfield for YEARS, finally plays as a 10 and plays better then Bruno all season and still has critics lol.

Because the average football fan doesn't understand that football is 90% about dynamics. Having complementary profiles on the pitch does most of the work for you. You don't need an elaborate positional grid like Pep.

There's a reason half of the top 40 most expensive transfers are flops. Players succeed surrounded by certain profiles then they go to a new club and flop because the profiles around them are completely different.

Unfortunately, United is a team filled with buying players without taking into account any of that. Liverpool are the complete opposite in this regard.

We will definitely perform much better compared to last few games but I expect a proper contest between two brilliant teams.
Let us see if we have the same amount of luck that City have had this season so far.
