Messi is fine, recovering from career threatening injury and covid.futbol_bill wrote:Harmonica wrote:He's been gringe few years now, I don't know why teams still allow him on the field anymore. Oh and I observed yet another important penaldo missed.FennecFox7 wrote:Ronaldo is finished unless he adapts his game again. He’s as stiff as cardboard out there. Really painful to watch
Focus on the criticism of the ‘enemy’ and ignore the actual play of your ‘hero’.
Fact is neither are close to what they used to be!

Surprised with Chelsea not controlling every single square with that system.

Because these are not really the same thing are they. Possession is measured by the amount of time your team has the ball, not how many touches you have?

Caught the Newcastle game yesterday to watch Bruno's debut and was shocked at how devastating ASM was. Is he always this good for them? I recall him as nothing more than a headless chicken constantly running into traffic.

I can't say for sure as I never watch them but I think it's safe to say that if he were always as good for them he would be somewhere else by now
I assume he's sometimes unplayable and then sometimes a headless chicken again

The author didn't really detail how he calculated it.
I know that Opta calculates possession differently. They look at the total passes made in a match, then divide it by a team's amount of passes to get each team's possession count. So if 1000 passes were played, and one team passed the ball 700 times the possession count would be 70%-30%.
So if he was using Opta's metrics to calculate this, I'm assuming he just calculated the number of passes completed in a specific zone and referred to it as touches.
That being said I'm just guessing, I'm not really sure. I think the general trends of it are interesting though. You can see NUFC's reliance on ASM.
City and Burnley are like two complete opposites. Arsenal lack central occupation since their two pivots and attacking midfielders play closer to the sides etc.

In fairness to him, you see that team before the signings? I'd struggle to think of someone who wouldn't look like a headless chicken.
I haven't seen a game but i don't need to know that team was trash (still is to a certain extent)

Less than 70 pts may still be enough this season

He still takes risk so often therefore gives the ball away here and there but can still be game changer and decide the game on his own
Even when he is having poor game he may suddenly come to life and make decisive contribution like that Watford game couple of weeks ago
I wouldn't call him inconsistent,it's just his high risk high reward style
Love when he uses his acceleration when dribbling sideways to create shooting opportunity
His numbers (clearly assists) would be a lot better if he played alongside better players

Che Adams was lighting them up too. They really should have won that they looked the more threatening team even if it was an open game. Every weekend i am stunned by how shit United are, Arteta actually has a chance wallahi

Thing is, Atleti has one of the worst defensive records in La Liga and are absolutely an abysmal side this season. We ruined them with Junior Messias ffs.
Would be unreal if this United side get into the quarters.

It hurts so bad, but Ronaldo is finished, he needs to retire. It’s over for him.

A bit much there Z but truth is CR has shown overt signs of being finished for 2 years now. Beginning with the end of his second year at Juve, to definitely last season to quite obvious this one despite his hot early season.
He overall played best actually under Allegri showing an overlooked creative side but the last gasps of him were not to long ago. If he isnt adding goals he quite literally adds nothing to the team and has poorly adapted to his dramatic loss of pace and close control.
It is sad but not as much when you consider his age.

Man we need a new Molecastle.
I used to assume Mole was simply in the hiding of his love for NUFC just to spring out when they aren't shit just to avoid the GL roast but he's become a total passive shithouse of a fan ffs
Here's hoping some uneducated lout of a Sheikh can buy them so we can see the fire lit in him or a new breed.
