Re: Summer Transfers 2021
Is there any coach from a big club who has had the backing Arteta has had from a results perspective?
I know Arsenal is a banter club that is going through a transition period, but I feel every club would've sacked him before Christmas last year when they were 14th or whatever.

No there hasn't, and yes, of course every club with functioning leadership and sense would have sacked him.Casciavit wrote:Is there any coach from a big club who has had the backing Arteta has had from a results perspective?

Not just backing from a results perspective, also backing in the market. Arteta has now actually gotten his 3rd center back, two CBs worth 30m and one worth 60m €, Partey for 50m, another young talented CM now for 20m.
Yet he's utterly failed to get performances out of any of those expensive players he got (Saliba he even sent away) and yet fans are saying "oh we can't judge him as our defense and midfield are so poor".
The club is a mess, and Arteta should be nowhere near this job.
Thgey even had an elite AM prospect in Oedegaard but the fans are like "meh", the truth is that no player will ever be good enough to make Arteta look like a great manager.

Re: Summer Transfers 2021
seems like every other PL team is buying left, right, center, mid, back, front and Liverpool no credible news so far after Konate
Seems like Liverpool the only club, being shit scared of spending money. FSG as usual mean only business. Good luck season 21-22.

Wow, we couldn't afford Grealish nearly three years ago.
Thank god your club came to save the day and paid part of it.

So, City and Pep really spent 100 million quid on one player to not win the CL again?!

Arsenal paying £30million (£24m and £6m add-ons) will make Aaron Ramsdale the sixth most expensive goalkeeper ever. https://t.co/dYG8TYETVg

One of the worst windows in modern history, not for a lack of signings but for the seemingly monumental support for a clueless manager, besides the fact that they are spending unresponsibly huge sums in a COVID-market.
I'd be fuming if i were an Arsenal fan

Re: Summer Transfers 2021
I don't know why is this surprising.
When you are a shit club, you have to overpay for shit players.
Arsenal would rather sign Donnarumma, Messi, Ramos, Hakimi and Wijnaldum for 60 million but none of them would want to play for Arsenal.
They are trying, so props to them. Hopefully Arsenal can get back on track, the league doesn't feel right without them in 4th place.

When will people realize that these 'free transfers' are not actually free?
These high profile deals involve millions in agent and commission fees.
Messi's deal is almost equivalent to spending €80-100M on a player and giving him reasonable wages.
If Arsenal had bottomless pits of cash from a government fund, I'm sure even they would've been able to execute the transfers they dreamt of.

Re: Summer Transfers 2021
There's that Vibe but a more responsible club would be a tad bit more sensible in their signings.
Sure, Ben White and Aaron Ramsdale are good footballers in their own right (they are currently playing at the highest level of football), however, I am positive, absolutely positive with a bit more scouting and proper coaching, they are just as equally talented men out there who wouldn't cost the total budget of a Ministry in a small country.
Then again, I did say responsible...

Re: Summer Transfers 2021
I'm sure you're all saddened to hear Arsenal have pulled out the Ramsdale deal now.
Anyway, Arsenal approach to transfers right now makes more sense when you remember they've finished 8th back to back and have no European football this season. In a market where Jack Grealish went for £100m.
Also, Brexit means EU players need work permits now. If players are regular internationals for top nations, they need to qualify on appeal which includes things like being within the top percentage of transfer fees and salaries. Getting those cheaper alternatives is no longer as easy as it was.
