I guess that goal against Bayern lives on in people's memories. Sort of like how Wilshere rode that performance against Barça for a decade.

Re: Summer Transfers 2021
There is no question about it, Inter did a great job considering the circumstances.
Despite everyone and their mother knowing they needed to sell players, they still managed to get high transfer fees for them, and they managed to get good replacements.
Sure, they are weaker than last year, but so is nearly everyone else. In contrast, Barca couldn't move on ANY of their dead-weight players, and ended up sacrificing Messin instead.
For Milan, I think Giroud's deal was great, and so Maignan as a replacement for Dollarumma. However, I am still not sure what the hell are they smoking regarding contract extensions. Losing Dollarumma and Hakan on Free was shit enough, but it looks like it's happening with Kessie as well.
In this situation, I feel like clubs sometimes are at a huge disadvantage. Players are incentivized to let their contracts run so that they can go for huge fees to other clubs after they gain their reputation in one place. The arent club can try and keep them with high salaries, but that puts a huge drain on resources, upsets the entire salary structure, and then makes it impossible to shift them away.

EXPECTATIONS :
REALITY :
JUNIOR MESSIAS
According to Fabrizio Romano, AC Milan have reached an agreement with Crotone to sign forward Junior Messias. The squad has been in need of more depth up front to replace the void left by Hakan Calhanoglu and Jens Petter Hauge and they have acted swiftly on this deal.
Junior Walter Messias (born 13 May 1991) is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Italian Serie A club AC Milan, on loan from Crotone. Messias has also been deployed as a forward.
Let me clear a few things here:
-James Rodriguez has regressed so much that he wasn't CALLED UP by Colombia in May for the Copa Eibarica due to being so fat and unfit, add to that fact that he has been injury prone all season and is unclassy with his shit attitude towards Everton, its no wonder no club went for him
-Ziyech unfortunately couldn't happen on our terms (2 Year loan with buy obligazione spread in installments for each year Inter win the CL)
So we went for Messi
So far we have amicable replacements for Hakan and Donnarumma in Diaz and Maignan, we've also severely bolstered our bench options compared to last year. As i've been saying since the start of last season, outside our XI we are trash.
Now lets see, with Afcon in January and Kessie and Bennacer unavailable as well as important fixtures against Roma, Fio and Inter. I predict we will challenge for top 4. Title is still up in the air, but there is no better time for Lazio and Napoli to compete, especially with major changes in Milan/Inter/Juve. Lets see.

Re: Summer Transfers 2021
Junior Messias deal is loan for €2.6m with option to buy for another €5.4m plus bonuses. which is not bad for a player who still managed to rack 9 goals and 4 assist in his first ever Serie A campaign for poor team like Crotone.
He made his professional debut in Serie C in 2018 at age of 27, and until then had been working as a delivery man in turin and collecting bricks in construction while playing part time football. He has had humble beginnings and only in 3 years he managed to be in Serie A and now in Milan.
People laugh at this deal but it is a huge accomplishment for him and this is a great thing of milan to give opportunity to a hungry player like him.
Milan had opportunity and they did look to sign isco, rodriguez, few other players but in the end clubs couldnt reach deal or their salary were too high.
the only thing that is a mistake from milan was spectacularly botching deal on Romain Faivre
he will be a success at milan, even if he doesn't his story alone is a success that every football players should aspire to become. Jamie Vardy walked similar path no one believed in him

Re: Summer Transfers 2021
Overall, what does everyone rate their club's transfer window?
For Milan, I am happy with our transfers, but upset with how we are dealing with contract negotiations. The fact is we are losing very desirable players for nothing.
One aspect of that is we are not a selling club. But this also means we get nothing for the layers we develop, and cannot keep key players in the squad due to our low salary structure. This doesn't look like it can change due to Serie A's decline, and our only hope is to continuously unearth relatively cheap gems (and then failing to sell them).

Re: Summer Transfers 2021
Underwhelming. We've added bodies, yet somehow feel weaker. Odegaard is probably the transfer I'm most pleased with and, coincidently, one of our most needed

Milan Transfer 2021/22 season
Out : Donnarruma, Calhanoglu, Mandzukic, Donnarumma Antonio, Marco Brescianini (loan), Lorenzo Colombo, Tomasso Pobega (loan), Mattia Caldara (loan), Diego Laxalt, JP Hauge (loan w/ obligation after securing position in Bundesliga)
In : Maignan, Tomori, Tonali, Giroud, Ballo-Toure, Brahim Diaz, Florenzi, Pellegri, Bakayoko, Messias Jr, Adli *loaned back to Bordeaux , Chaka Traore
Will give B or 7/10.
Only problem is unable to sell fringe players like Conti, Castillejo ; unable to resolve kessie, romagnoli situation ; and unable to get few targets .. the likes of ziyech, vlacic, Romain Faivre was the quite a big mess to not even unable to reach the gap of just 2.5 m to match their asking 15m.
