If Pep didn’t want him City wouldn’t have gone in and would’ve distance themselves from this transfer. This seem more of a City thing, even last year they tried getting Messi for free, all top Juve/Italian journalist said City wanted CR7 for free too and they haggled for Kane Levy wanted 150m they offered 125m. I have no idea what they’re trying to do here they spent a ton on CB and Fullbacks when they needed it but now seem to be penny pinching for a striker/goal scorer even with the talks about CR7 it was more will take him but on our terms. Since Pep has been there they’ve never really gone into a transfer battle either they sign the player or lose them if someone else comes in Jorginho to Chelsea, Sanchez/Maguire/Ronaldo  to United, de Jong to Barcelona, de Ligt to Juventus, and van Dijk to Pool, etc.

They going to have a poor season this time around unless Jesus, Sterling, Torres or Grealish become some insane goal scorer.

Makes no sense. Obviously the move had his blessing, and City has to create this narrative to save face, since obviously Ronaldo ditched them as soon as United called.

As per the rumors it all happened rather swiftly, yesterday at noon the first Man City rumors emerged, if you believe the reports so far its been a toss up between PSG as well with neither of the clubs in advanced negotiations

my guess is Man City inquired and then Utd swooped in to intercept once they heard the news, perhaps before Pep was even consulted

before yesterday CR to PSG was the talk, no mention of Citeh

Lol and city go in with no recognized striker. If it was Pep vetoing the move well maybe he should’ve actually brought in some sort of CF

Not true really they would’ve signed Kane if he had that level of control. Pep or for the matter no manager or coach cares how much there club spends on players City simply didn’t want to pay an extra 25m for Kane I highly doubt it was Pep saying “Naw guys I think he isn’t worth that.” He pushes City owner narratives and all but I doubt does he behind the scene.

Man some people are stupid. I believe Ronaldo won’t solve too much of United issue and they could improve other areas, but you can’t pass on CR7. United and Chelsea fav for the league now.

If anyone can, Ronaldo can. He has atleast 3 good years to give to United. How will Ole manage the egos, Rashford and Greenwood playing time and the current system is still to be seen.
