UEFA Champions League | Final Round | Real Madrid vs Borussia Mönchengladbach [Home]
This is how the table looks for group B with just one game remaining:
Mathematically speaking, all four teams are still in the race, but here's how each one of them should do in order for them to qualify:
Real Madrid: We need only a home victory to qualify to the knockouts, while a draw will suffice should Inter defeat Shakhtar. If we lose, we will drop to the Europa League if Inter don't beat Shakhtar.
MGB: A defeat or draw with Real Madrid on the final day would suffice for them to progress to the knockout phases, though they have already been assured a place in the Europa League.
Shakhtar: They will progress to the knockouts if they win against Inter on the final matchday, while a draw will also be enough, but only if we fail to beat Gladbach. A defeat will not see them through.
Inter: They need to win against Shakhtar and rely on a win or loss between MGB and Real Madrid. A draw between Madrid and MGB would not be enough due to the head-to-head.

This is in our own hands
I don't think Shaktar will get anything out of the Inter game. Shaktar have score 0 goals against both Inter and BMG
We just need to win. Carvajal is back in training so hoping to see Lucas in front of Carvajal. And the rest should be the same as the Sevilla game
BMG are conceding goals left and right. If we play like we did after the break and this last game we'll win. But if we play like we did against Alaves and Shaktar we won't even make the Europa League

If we can't beat MGB at home, then we really don't deserve to be in the CL.
Our guys really need the wake the f up.

DoC, you are missing one variable in your group analysis above. If Inter wins and MGB loses, they both will have 8 points and the tie in points goes to Inter! (Head to head results are an inter win and a tie). Therefore, both Madrid and Inter advance with wins this week!

Both Carvajal and Ramos are back in training and will start against BMG. Great news. Only Valverde left now

I actually mentioned it as well, Bill. A defeat or draw with Real Madrid on the final day would suffice for MGB to progress to the knockout phases. If they lose, they go straight to the Europa League.
But they are the only team in the group that has a guarantee to be in the Europa league if they lose.
Anyway, I only care about Madrid at this point, all we have to do is win this game. Even if we draw, we would still qualify if Inter beats Shakhtar, but I hope we will take matters into our won hands and not wait for them to bail us out.

I predict this a week ago, Madrid and Inter win and advance.

Right on cue. Jovic out due to injury from doing absolutely nothing.
Edit: Odegaard too. Are these guys made of glass?

I haven't read anywhere that Ødegaard is injured. Must've happened in training then. I hope it's not his jumper's knee again. It could be a problem, if that's going to become a recurring theme. He's had an unfortunate start to this season, with Covid and being kicked and pummeled by Northern Ireland

Luckily for us, Mönchengladbach aren't quite as good this season, as they were last season. They've conceded a lot of easy goals in the league.

Modric is playing like old modric. Like i said he has not lost any physical characters just lost concentration like the rest.
Re: UEFA Champions League | Final Round | Real Madrid vs Borussia Mönchengladbach [Home]
Modric my word. Probably the best performer this season.
We have completely dominated them. The midfield have done excellent work.
Ramos back to fight for every single ball and playmake from the back

So its either Lazio, Atalanta, RB Leipzig or Porto for the next round. Quite comfortable with those teams other than RB Leipzig

Leipzig have done really well in the league, and they’ve scored some freak goals, but overall, they’re not that all that great. At least, not if you compare them to Dortmund or Bayern. Their forwards are relatively underwhelming, their midfield and defense are inconsistent in terms of defensive organization.
I was hoping that my fellow countryman, Sørloth would effectively replace Timo Werner, but he’s been getting very little time on the pitch, so far. Upamecano can be a one man army, but he has been more conservative this season.
If we play like we did against Shaktar, I don’t think it matters much who we’re up against. They may have beaten Man United, but United’s forwards are so tame when they aren’t allowed to counter-attack, and they had injuries to their supposedly most clinical starters in Cavani and Martial. If we play like we did today, we should at the very least have a very good chance of advancing.

Modric playing his socks off for that contract extension.
Really good performance from him
Love for Lucas Vazquez too. He played really well. Attacking and defending.
Again his permanent position should be right back.
