Vive Ligue 1 is all I gotta say. I jumped on this ship long ago and I love it like my cafe au lait.

Getting Sampaoli to manage them assures that style to be played. Tbh I been watching Marseille since last season. Their fans are actually into their team and their games always deliver with electric atmosphere. Even Sampaoli got into it after the turn around vs Montpelier. It was amazing. If Monaco suck this season I'll happily take OM's side.

Ninja Update:
PSG v Strasbourg was hella entertaining...for me the neutral. For a PSG fan, I suppose you can be a bit concern that:
Defense is still a hot mess
Midfield can be bypass if one knows how to utilise a ball
Mbappe relies way too much on his speed and not his other facets.
All in all, decent win by them. Strasbourg gave it all they got (they really did in the 2nd half) but with PSG having the superior starting 11 plus being a man up were too much.

OM is so fun to watch this year lol. We score 2... give up 2... Ghendouzi gets subbed out thank goodness... and we're attacking again with no conscience.
I see another 4-3 game lol.

Nice are a damn good team (they have good owners with money) and Galltier is the coach.
Watch for Gouiri. He's the next great French striker for me. Great talent.
Lille... meh. Typical for them. They win, either sell everyone or are about to, and tank the following season as a result.

Gouiri is gonna be a superstar, you can bet on it, seen him during our friendly this summer and can already tell he's got the makings to be the next big French talent

Re: Ligue 1 20/21
Good to see Cengiz hit the ground running at Marseille. Good patch of form he's in.
Marseille are the team I follow more than others in Ligue 1 (though not enough to talk about them in any depth), but with Under and De la Fuente there, I have more reason than normal to keep up with how they're doing.

Re: Ligue 1 20/21
Impressed with both Under and De la Fuente... two of our better players in this very early season. Hard to project Under's role in a more traditional formation though as he's playing the wingback in the Bielsa-esque 4141 or 3313. It's a bit crazy.
Will be interesting to see if they can sustain form for a season once OM starts playing the better teams. Bordeaux and Montpellier aren't very good.

Yeah I saw a graphic of the formation Sampaoli's using. Absolutely crazy stuff, but it seems to be working so far. Hard not to see it eventually getting found out later in the season however. As you said though, this Marseille side is fun to watch right now. Best to just enjoy the ride, I suppose.

So, I see no one is gonna mention Angers vs Lyon so I would.
If Lyon could have rage quit, they would have done it by HT. Farfan is in for a long season, I sympathise. Don't worry my friend, Madrid would keep you safe...

Very good sleeper player in Ligue 1: Gerson of OM. This guy oozes class on the ball.

Re: Ligue 1 20/21
... and disgraceful end to the game. Bunch of hooligan thugs threw full bottles at OM players when they were taking corner kicks... hit Payet in the head. Payet threw the bottle back at the crowd followed by others. Ultras started invading the pitch.
Game suspended.
Awful crowd at Nice by Nice ultras (no surprise). Really bad security planning.

French league man, dominated by hooligans. Even PSG fans are regularly banned in other cities before KOs near stadiums.

Meanwhile, it was peaceful encounters when I watched Lyon and Montpellier played today in their respective matches.
Lyon still looks hella shaky but Farfan probably needed this win, well, all of Lyon needed it tbh.

Re: Ligue 1 20/21
PSG ultras were banned from the Parc des Princes for many years. They were let back in... but with very tight requirements. They're only a problem outside of the stadium and in away games.
But yes, there are a lot of hooligans in France. OM and Nice are actually the worse. When the game is at Nice (like this one), OM fans aren't allowed. Nice fans aren't allowed in Marseille either. Lyon and St Etienne are right there too... especially St Etienne. Those people are crazy. Basically, the places with the most impoverished inner cities.
It's a microcosm of the issues in the inner cities of France.

We are actually advised from our Unis to avoid Grand place in Lille and CEly in Paris during football nights and that was not to avoid the home fans but the away ones, it's that bad.
