He is machine in the midfield and almost never injured. He has balls of steel and in the beginning we used to complain that sometimes he used to go missing in few games but he has evolved a lot under Klopp. He was chosen to be the captain by all the players after the likes of Henderson and VanDjik at the club. He always comes with important goals (those 2 goals against Barca ), tries to calm the game and pace it down the way it suits Liverpool. I hope Koeman uses him properly at Barca and I really doubt he would work so flawlessly in a 4-2-3-1.

I agree that Gini has been very good for us after finding his role, but he is turning 30 in a couple of months and has only a year left on his contract. Either we extend him and risk that he starts declining in his 30s, let him leave for free next summer... or sell him now for mere 20 million or whatever. If we're signing Thiago (or any other CM), it does make sense to sell Wijnaldum now.

I would not mind but I still thought 20m is too less in this market, actually I dont care as long as they sign Thiago as a replacement. We need to freshen up things a bit in starting XI. Keita playing regularly adds that already but Thiago would be great. Thiago unfortunately has some history of getting injured, recently he has been fit but still I have doubts whether he would survive in Klopp's midfield for 38 games a season.
