Alba is a dick, end of discussion. Varane was just doing his job, people climb over you in aerial battles especially if you're short. Alba's reaction was uncalled for.

Lol yeah right and lets pretend like Casemiro shouldnt be red carded every 2 games but refs always allow him to play like a wild hog and then give him a yellow in minute 87 so it doesnt look bad on the sheet?

Casemiro always stays on the right side of the law. He may make niggly fouls here an there but very few obvious yellow/red card challenges. He survives with his style of play both in Europe and even Spain who love giving us yellow cards for nothing challenges. People complaining about Casemiro wants football to become non contact sport

You'll never see Casemiro put his hand on another players face like Alba did. NEVER!!

You never did keep clean sheets once you didn't dominate possession by 65/35... Your defenders were never very good defenders bar Abidal and a younger Pique. All the rest were average to poor individual defenders.

Very lazy analysis.
First of all, the fact that you correlate possession and goals conceded should be an indication that it's not just about individual defender quality, and then of course the best individual defenders can't keep the opposition from scoring when they have no midfield protection or the team doesn't work well against the ball.
And then, Umtiti was great when he was still fit, @futboll_bill already mentioned Puyol lmao, Mascherano wasn't exactly terrible either

This is just Sports at it again. The surprise is is he didn't include Umtiti along with Abidal as the only good defenders. His french bias is ridiculous. Being Spanish, Dutch, Italian or Mexican does rate in Sports' books!

We had 70% today though.

We still keep lots of possession often against minnows and we have a better keeper than Valdes ever was.

Perhaps we aren't as efficient with the ball at feet & right after we lose it the players find it hard to quickly recover it.
