A bigger shout would have been the ball handled by Acuña against Sergi Roberto in the second half. Not sure if it was a stonewall penalty but the fact that it wasn't even VAR-checked was astonishing.

Don't know why I bother, but the defender fouled Messi at the same time, which is why it was penalty. In football, not in Ref Liga that is.

Yeah tbh it's a tough call. From other angles it looks like he clearly gets the ball first but simultaneously steps on Messi's foot which could be described as "excessive force" as it is worded in the rulebook.

Its a 50-50 call imo, would have been a penal for Madrid 8/10 times, for Barca about 3/10 times.

What Messi should have done is theatrically throw his body forward on the ground immediately, then it's a stonewall penaldo

But the defender gets the ball first and then follows with stepping on Messi's foot which is up to the REF's interpretation. So I wouldn't say it's corruption necessarily but definitely bias toward the capital team.
