Can we win La Liga?

Madrid just drew, so now are behind us by a point and Atleti ahead by three point. We have Elche and then an obviously final like show down with Atleti. It seems no matter how many mistakes we made this season we have a second life at claiming La Liga at least. This squad and Tata need to respond in the next two games the heat will also be on Atleti as leaders and within a week from our game I believe they'll be in the CL final.

The odds of us beating Atleti on the final day are slim. We played them what, 5 times this season? Got zero wins out of it. Messi zero goals/assits.

Wouldnt surprise me if we get a draw vs Elche and throw it away early

How can you guys be happy if you win under these circumstances? You know you do not deserve it. We do not deserve it either, but I was hoping for us to win it anyway so we could have a treble. But now I think it is best if Atletico wins it.

Winning a title and that too a league is always a good thing even if the circumstances are bad doesn't mean we should just give up on it.

we got 6 points from madrid and got two points off Atletico not impressive sure but look what atletico did this season
got 4 points from madrid and 2 from barca.

if we were to rank "who deserves it more"
it'd be a tie between atletico and barca whereas Madrid stomped on the smaller clubs which isn't necessarily a bad thing because i wish Barca took more advantage of that and this league would of been secured months ago.

We deserve it more than any team, we won 2 clasicos and drew against Atleti at the vicente calderon.
We have to beat Atleti at Camp Nou to win it and if we did we deserve it without any doubt. Infact, with al the problems at the club very surprised we still have a chance and its in our own hands (2 wins = 23rd Liga Trophy). Visca Barca!!

In the scenario you stated yes, but Atleti would need to lose 4 points out of the next 2 games. If they get just 3 points then Madrid are out of the league I believe.

Atletico will definitely play super defensively knowing a draw will make them winners however, and just play on the counterattack. It will be extremely tough to score on them.

I couldn't have asked for a brighter beginning to my morning.

All that needs to happen next weekend is one of these three things and Real Madrid will be out of the title race definitively.

1. Atletico win against Malaga at home.
OR
2. Barca win away at Elche and Atletico do not lose against Malaga at home
OR
3. Madrid fail to win away at Celta

It would be great to win La Liga but I do not so much mind Atletico winning it. We haven't really played that well this season to fully deserve the title and it's nice to see an underdog triumph and remove the notion that La Liga is a two team league.

What means the world to me is that Real Madrid must not win La Liga. This team could potentially win a treble without being anywhere near as good as the treble winning teams of the past. That travesty must be prevented at any cost.

So I am backing Atletico firmly to win their home match against Malaga and of course us to win against Elche away. What happens in Madrid's away match against Celta should then be immaterial. Then it is a direct contest between Atletico and us on the last day. If we win at home against them then we are champions. Anything else and they are champions. Madrid can spend the last weekend as mere spectators.

Oh please Barca, Atletico, Celta and/or fate, make this happen for me this weekend! I can hardly rest till this weekend's La Liga matches are done and dusted.

If this happens then I will even try and forget the pain of the impressive underdog Liverpool being so cruelly denied the EPL title.

considering the amount of drama happened in last few match days, we better wait for the elche game first....who knows more drama are not waiting....
elche is near relegation zone and unbeaten in last 9 home games....but celta(vs r.madrid) and malaga(a.madrid) have nothing specific to play for.....i think its more of a difficult round for us than them......

at JD, it is always said that the team who wins a league truly deserves it, same is not said in case of cups. Now i really believe it......
look we were leading by 7 points to R. madrid at times comfortably and had been league leaders for long, defeated R.madrid twice and had a draw vs A.madrid away, passed through so many problems, played without No.1 keeper since classico and stupidly though without defenders for long, had so many different scandals, fake president resigning and another fake replacing him......
If after all those things the league is still in our hands (win 2, get it) why you still think we don deserve it.....infact this season (whoever wins) gave me a firm belief that league is won by a desrving candidate only......

Atletico Madrid has a chance to win double and this is what is making the situation interesting.

R Madrid has a two game in hand and will try win both. With Ronaldo injured it will be tough for them. Same goes with Bale , he was not even in bench in last match. With winning both the league matches a week ahead of CL final will be tricky. Hope Bale and Ronaldo are fit for Final. I dont want to see Madrid final without them.

For Atl Madrid win against Malaga will give them confidence to go against Barcelona and R Madrid but it will tough/ really interesting for them to pull it of under these circumstances. They have been phenomenon all this season but the stakes are way too high at the moment.

Two straight win for Barcelona is the only way left. Lets see how motivated the team is now !

hope atletico madrid lose against malaga so they are forced to attack us in camp nou.
otherwise we are going to need a prime messi / neymar / iniesta to show up if we wanna break down their bus along with having to outscore their counter attacks.
