Newcastle Vs Arsenal
I am so glad Rafa isn't managing them...
Our team is missing some key players though which will make it difficult.
Who to start though?
-----------------------Leno-------------------------------
AMN---------Sokratis------Chambers-----------Monreal
-------------XHAKA--------Torreira-----------------------
---------------------Guendouzi---------------------------
Mkhitaryan------------Auba--------------------Nelson
that looks like a EL team ffs.
but i am sure we will win.

Re: Newcastle Vs Arsenal
Your facing Steve Bruce mate, if you don't win 6-0 sack Emery imo.

Re: Newcastle Vs Arsenal
I hate the new Arsenal.com design. Huge pictures with not much write up and then they will link you into articles that have more links in them.
Miss the old design which was plain and had everything on the front page.

Re: Newcastle Vs Arsenal
Leno; Maitland-Niles, Chambers, Sokratis, Monreal; Guendouzi, XHAKA; Mkhitaryan, Willock, Nelson; Aubameyang
Subs: Martinez, Luiz, Torreira, Ceballos, Martinelli, Pepe, Lacazette
Probably going to be a struggle until the subs come on and save the game.
Mustafi binned for Chambers, in case anyone was wondering what Emery thinks of him now.

Re: Newcastle Vs Arsenal
Good start to the season. Away win and an away clean sheet!
More of the key players (Ceballos, Pepe and Luiz to name a few) need to start starting from next week on though.

Re: Newcastle Vs Arsenal
Granted Newcastle didn't threaten us that much but our back 5 were solid.

Re: Newcastle Vs Arsenal
A good win in the circumstances.
Willock was combative, made good runs and took up good positions in the box. Nelson struggled more, since his decision making was a touch slower than required, which led to him being caught in possession. But considering they were there as stop-gaps, they did okay.
XHAKA and Mkhitaryan struggled, as they usually do. XHAKA's giveaways and reckless defensive play always puts the team in trouble, and Mkhitaryan seems incapable of stringing more than one good action together.
Auba was impressive. He worked hard, got chances despite playing with weaker players, and took his goal very well.
For Ceballos and Pepe, it's all about minutes. Signs of rust from both.
Happy that Martinelli got an appearance. Shows he's going to be involved when the chance arises.
The main thing was the clean sheet and the low number of errors at the back. Not spotless, and Newcastle's attack was weak, but it's already an improvement from last season.

Re: Newcastle Vs Arsenal
Martinelli definitely needs to be in the rotation over Nelson and Mkhitaryan. I have a good feeling about him.

he can be our own Richarlison, not the typical Brazilian flair but good physique and intelligent with positions he takes up

Re: Newcastle Vs Arsenal
Arsenal attempted 26 dribbles today, last season Arsenal attempted 14 dribbles per game 14th in the League.
— Noon Kickoff on Monday UGH (@7amkickoff) August 11, 2019
Top dribblers v. Newcastle:
4/6 - AMN
3/4 - Nelson
2/2 - Willock
1/1 - Ceballos
1/2 - Guen
1/5 - Mkhi
0/1 - Pepe
0/2 - Auba
0/3 - Monreal
Something to look out for this season. Seems Emery might be encouraging more dribbling.
