Incidentally, Lacazette, Aubameyang, and Pepe is now the most expensively assembled front three in PL history. Chuck Ozil into the mix, and Arsenal will have a front four that cost them £230.5m.

===============================================
FEATURE | Nicolas Pépé – from goalkeeper & troublemaker to Lille’s record sale
.If you were standing on a dusty North Eastern Parisian touchline at the start of the decade, you might just have spotted a young Nicolas Pépé taking his first steps in club football. Born in nearby Mantes, Pépé joined Solitaires Paris-Est as a teenager, but in a very different guise to the marauding winger Lille fans know today. “We didn’t have a good goalkeeper at that time, so he played in goal. As soon as we went 3-0 up, he came out.” Guy Fraineau, president of Solitaires, told the Bleacher Report in April, “He played in goal for a whole season.” Instead of joining the ranks of Ligue 1 goalkeepers since, Pépé is beating them at will.
Initially not seeing football as a viable career path, as a goalkeeper or otherwise, Pépé told Onze Mondial that “everything changed” during his goalkeeping teens when his father, a prison guard, asked for a transfer away from Paris’ 19th arrondissement, eventually landing in the comparatively tranquil Western town of Poitiers. “That’s when I started thinking about football, I saw that I had qualities. I changed positions and realised that I could become a professional footballer.”
Spotted by the local then Ligue 2 club Angers in 2013, much has changed for Pépé. A supremely rapid and skilful forward with a rasping strike and a calm finishing ability, Pépé’s oddly spindly legs provide an unusual gate and a sense of unpredictability that has become increasingly terrifying for French top tier defences of late.
.
Admitting to Onze Mondial that “before I arrived at Angers, I didn’t really know tactics. I was shown how to position myself with and without the ball, how to take the ball. I did not realise it was so important.”

I've been hyping him up since I impulsively decided to watch a couple of Lille's matches, earlier in the season. Nicolas Pepe is one of the most exciting, non-established players I've seen in recent years. Florentino Perez may have announced that he's looking to sign young talents as a means of steering away from the inflated price tags for established names in the modern transfer market, but I really can't explain wtf we're doing, these days. I think Zidane is still our sporting director

On my workplace keyboard, I press and hold Alt Gr + the key that’s two spaces to the right of nill/zero, followed by your letter of choice.

I'm sure he seems brainy compared to Dembele. He certainly has significantly better vision, and I would like to say that his decision-making is better, but his main weakness is that he has a strong tendency to lose his composure in the final third. If he can work on that, he can be a fantastic player for Arsenal.

He was the same at Lille. Hopefully, with time, he'll learn to compose himself in the final third. It was quite frustrating to watch at Lille, because he would sometimes dribble towards the box and create chances out of nothing - and then ultimately waste possession because he would suddenly display the restlessness of someone who needs to take an incredibly urgent shit.
