Re: "The Gentleman's game"- Cricket
You know you're struggling for fluency when Root is coming down the pitch and swinging in hope.
I'm not confident at all now. Root just wasted five overs messing about and not rotating the strike when he's usually so good at it. Seems like the pressure is getting to everyone.

Swear, NZ's bowling is ridiculous. Things ain't looking good for the coming home campaign.

Re: "The Gentleman's game"- Cricket
It's so England. They know the pitch is difficult and NZ have great bowlers and fielders, but they stick with "their way" without fail. That means swinging and tying to smash the chase instead of rotating the strike and getting 1s and 2s.
One more wicket and this game is done.

Re: "The Gentleman's game"- Cricket
There is literally no need for risks. Like they can easily go the entire match without hitting a 4 and still win.

They kinda need to start hitting the boundaries now though. I mean, they didn't need to at the start but calm heads and England aren't exactly the greatest of friends.

I dont think they need to worry about boundaries just yet. Not till 40 overs anyway. Anything around 80 is gettable in last 10.

Re: "The Gentleman's game"- Cricket
Would have been nice had Root and Morgan batted like this.
These two need to keep this up until the last 12/13 overs. Then we have a chance.

10 overs to go.
Time for magic Buttler. Stokes just needs to hang around and let Buttler do his thing.

I mean, I still think it's coming home but it's a bit sticky.
