If Tottenham win Champions League , they would have won all the 3 European cups : Champions League , UEFA Cup, and Cup's Winners Cup

it's basically Liverpool and London (other than spurs fans obv) united for Liverpool to win

also no disrespect to spurs/poch, but the reason hala mentioned regarding a section of the madrid fanbase and poch is another reason i'd like pool over spurs. we won't hear the end of people advocating for our manager to be fired even before the season starts so that they can hire poch

i'll enjoy it as a neutral though. i hope it goes to penalties, a high scoring game and a penalty shootout. always love the tension the shootout creates when my team isn't involved

The Old UEFA Cup was close to the modern Champions League , played from 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th of every league.

What bullshit is this? Back in the day, UEFA Cup was a stronger competition than ECC, even if it was less prestigious. It was the closest thing to the current CL and the teams were going all out trying to win it.

Ajax were destroyed from pressure , they are not brilliant athletically as one month ago, they haven't players used to play this sort of matches . tottenham are better in this , they have many WC semi-finalists.

Overall a thougher opponent for Liverpool

I believe Liverpool are favorite for this victory but not same as if Ajax would have passed

Yeah, not really sure if that's some grand achievement either.

the uefa cup was never on the same level as the european cup. that some good teams or good players won it doesn't mean it was on the same level or even better than the european cup or later the champions league, quit that. what's next? the cup winners cup was also some great competition?

the best thing those competitions did was give opportunities for management to scout less popular talents e.g. guys like klinsman although one can argue he didn't even need that to put his talent on notice. stations where hardly covering the games apart from local media when their team was playing. and only maybe the final games where being sold on vhs. i don't want to poopoo it, it had good moments but it was never the european cup
