Andrew Yang fan club - US President 2020 ???

Anyways, nearly every article by a professional economist I've read claims his VAT will only cover about half of the 1k per month UBI promise. Any Yang Gang here care to explain where the other half would come from?

Dont know about that idiot Trump, but Takei has been VERY vocal about being proud of being of Yamato heritage. He's American, but he is Japanese.

You dont understand because you have always been the majority, and never been under attack as a result.

Asians are viewed as other. If somebody is walking around saying "Fuck Chinese people" they arent going to see me, or my parents, and think:

"Welp you guys are cool because you are not Chinese"

They are going to view you as the same because you look the same the same as them. Thats why no distinction exists in the west, and thats what people dont understand. Like my girlfriend would be shocked when I showed her pictures of me in College and I would be in rooms with Just Chinese people. She can tell the difference, I can tell the difference, but she doesnt realize that in America where you are around other groups they cant tell a difference, and if they can, they dont make a distinction. You really think the average person sitting around when John McCain sat in front of a crowd and proclaimed "I hate the gooks" could tell the difference between me and somebody born in Vietnam on the street? And this man was running for president for a national party in an Election I was old enough to vote in, and I dont even consider myself an old man yet. Thats the reality.

you spend to much time worrying about who likes you and how they see you thats why you are paranoid all the time. you cant hate a person because other people might think you are from the same part of the world as that person. you should think more like me and your life will be care free. if people dont like me then fuck em. if people have a problem with me then come see me and we can sort it out.

Re: white birth rates. Sigh, we talked about this for a while a few pages back. I think you're fundamentally mistaken in how you are reading those tweets, but whatever, you can interpret those however wrongly you want.

Re: Trump. Yang actually has the most appeal to Trump voters from the democratic field. Seems to me that if your main concern is stopping Trump then you should be embracing him.

Also inheritance =/= citizenship. Citizenship is a legal definition that depends on each country. Unless Yang is a Chinese national he is not Chinese, same as Takei not holding a Japanese passport, etc. A feeling of belonging withing a certain national group is not citizenship.

That's actually a very interesting point that I've had some trouble understanding about US Americans and only now really noticed, as it's the inverse thing to how we (i.e. progressives in Germany) strife to handle the question of national identity here

i wonder if Chinese people would actually see it that way. I know of a girl who is the daughter of argentine immigrants in the US and calls herself Argentine. Yet she speaks spanish with an accent, hasn't studied the history, hasn't lived there for any time longer than a summer, etc. When she tells people back home she is argentine they correct her and tell her she is not...

I imagine the same would be true for the likes of Yang and Takei.

I remember that joke, yes, I saw the episode. It did rub me strangely wrong, but I like his way of being able to deliver such material.

It's doubly complicated as in effect Noah makes the joke of an European racialist, but him being an African.
