Our team and manager don’t match up to the ambitions people are expecting.
Lets not kid ourselves, you'd be the first one complaining if we were in the next rounds of the domestic clubs while being 3rd in the league.

I would take 3-4 place and the FA cup over a 2nd place finish and no trophies every season. We need to start looking at things we have a realistic chance of winning.Nishankly wrote:Unique wrote:I’m not even ranting when I say this because it is the reality of things but Liverpool really need to rethink the strategy for next season instead of pissing away the cups with the though of winning the title we should be all out to win the cups and just make sure to get top 4. February, still clear of City. This is possibly the best any team right now gets to win a trophy. No?
Regardless what happens later

you say that like Liverpool have managed to claw city back and take the lead. City have us 2 big chances to basically win the title and just like we have always done in the title games under klopp we bottled them. Are are getting worst by the game and mid table scrubs are taking points off us.Nishankly wrote:February, still clear of City. This is possibly the best any team right now gets to win a trophy. No?

I forgot it was that bad, that is disgusting.
The one today was BAD, but it was...not that.
Anyway, I told my Pool friend a couple weeks ago that if I were him I'd start to panic. Looks like I was right.
Spurs are somehow in this I'm not falling for it though, no Kane or Dele atm, these late winners will run out, they've been playing like crap and it's going to catch up.

In fifa 19 i consider 4-2-3-1 the best formation. As i like this system i look at teams who have the right players for the system to work man city and psg have the players.
In real life a manager can't just shift clubs he needs a system which will bring the best out of all his players. Thats why the manager is important.
Or
Should a manager have a specialised system and the club should facilitate him in getting the players he needs.

People shouldn't underestimate the effect pressure has on teams. Liverpool were nervous last night, understandably so since they were playing on Monday night after everyone else and knew that City were playing an extra game on Wednesday.
I think the United/Liverpool game coming up at the end on the month will be very decisive. An in-form United team will want to stop Liverpool winning the title, but if Liverpool win they'll gain the confidence to put another winning run together.

Long way to go before you can blame dropped points on 'nervousness'. Its only Feb. Yesterday was Livpool missing a couple of their starters and hence losing quality especially in defense. Nothing more. And if it all there was nervousness, it’s the nervousness arising out of not having the same kind of confidence in the replacements may be? Anyway they should be thankful to get a lucky point yesterday and just move on.

Re: 2018/2019 Premier League Discussion Part III
Of course they were nervous. They played when City had already played and won, so they knew losing was not an option. That alone brings extra pressure and is something many managers have spoken about in the past. They would have known City play on Wednesday as well and that they might not even be top by the time they play next. They can make the points up later, but it's a psychological thing.
With Liverpool especially, they've not been in these position since 2014, and the team was very different back then. Being the leader is difficult because everyone is waiting for them to drop points. It's very different to being the chasing team in this scenario.
I don't buy them dropping points at West Ham because they were missing players. All their key players were fit. Their midfield were their two big summer signings. They just didn't perform as well as they could on the night, just as they didn't perform as well they could against Leicester.

Nah. Think it could have been nerves too. They already know it's between them and City, and they have a history of fucking it all up, while City has the most recent experience of winning out the league.

Liverpool have been meh since they lost to City anyway, it's not a sudden shock really.
Drew with both Leicester and West Ham and scraped by Palace and Brighton.
West Ham isn't an isolated instance at all to blame on missing on players.

Well, if they are nervous now itself, how the heck are they going to handle April and May. Anyway let's see.
And ya that North-West derby on 24th is going to be massive.

Cardiff's answer seemed to be that they will pay once they've checked all the paperwork. Probably looking for some loophole given the circumstances, but I think they'll end up paying it all. Kinda cold from Nantes to already ask for the money btw.

Heard there was some insurance cover in the deal apparently, regardless everything boils down to money after a tragic event in the world.

Like clearing off the debt your spouse left behind after they died, cruel, cold reminder life does go on and Cardiff needs to pay what they owe.

I was under the impression every footballer is insured? unless it's the high profile ones only.
It's a difficult position for everyone. Nantes would think they deserve the money legally as they did sell him. Cardiff would think that they bought him but he never played for them.
You would think UEFA would step in in this case and try to sort it out and maybe compensate Nantes.
