Can't believe United didn't go for him. The last winger the club bought was Young
Was great last season.

Thats because (as per United fans) we are bringing Sancho next summer and a move for Pepe this window would hamper that.

I doubt it. Hasn't settled down yet, and now he's having a really poor match against a team they're losing against and most probably expected them to win against, so people are bringing out their pitchforks

Re: Nicolas Pepe
And no preseason... he's doing better than Hazard at Madrid lol. Even Griezmann is having a meh start at Barca.
Changing teams isn't easy... and in Hazard and Pepe's cases, changing leagues.
Give him until February.

Aren't your favorite players Dembele and Pogba? Sometimes, I wonder if you actually watch these players you hyperbolically praise or criticize. You must spend all day watching the top 4 leagues. I mean, otherwise, you'd be talking out of your arse, and I'd never suspect such a thing from you Your expert knowledge on these scattered clubs and players outside of the country and club you claim to support, would make Homeless Hans a more fitting name for you. Honestly, though, I'm a bit surprised you're not a biased Pepe fanatic, considering he shares many of the qualities that Dembele has, including the element of unpredictability that you once rambled about.

Re: Nicolas Pepe
I mean he deserves a bit of time, but 8 games in and hes been nothing short of shocking.
Really just doesn't look like he should even be making the first XI with his performances so far. No joke..
Obviously its harsh to judge this early though

Griezmann left France when he was 12. Never played a second in any professional league in France.

Re: Nicolas Pepe
I keep reading "8 games in" in these Premier League discussions. I haven't watched all of Arsenal's matches, but I know he's only started in 4 of them. Yesterday may have been his worst performance yet, but I think the reaction and very early verdict on his level of potential is incredibly premature. I look forward to seeing many of you change the tune of your whistle and act like this doomsday prediction never happened, a season from now

Re: Nicolas Pepe
Looks like it's actually 7 games. But he's started in 5, and played 45 mins in another. Only one game of those did he have a "traditional" sub appearance of 19 minutes.
Nobody here is saying he's going to stay shit
But it's been more than enough time -- about 500 minutes worth -- to say that he's been shit so far.

Re: Nicolas Pepe
Well, like I said, I can't tell that he's been shit in all of them, unless the persistent lack of composure, and in turn, end product seals his fate in terms of usefulness. Of course, you'd ideally expect instant impact or drastic improvement in a short space of time from him, but that's hardly ever the case with anyone who moves to a new country and league, let alone the ones who aren't able to speak the language.
"Nobody here is saying he's going to stay shit". Well, the flop tags are certainly hanging from low branches, these days It is of course possible that he will be bottlenecked by a lack of intelligence or ability to compose himself and make the right decisions. He may not even be able to adapt to the league, for all we know, but 500 minutes or whatever it is, is not a wealth of time, in my opinion.
