Yeah i didn't mean to come across that i thought you did either.
I think the thing with Nero is you're supposed to break his devil breakers for combo ability to maximize his potential.
But at the same time that costs red orbs to replenish and you don't want to spend on that instead of abilities and other combos.
It just seems counter productive.
Exactly. I really hope they improve on that in DMC 6. I liked playing as Vergil in DMC 3 "special edition" (I think it was that one). His Katana's sword swings just felt so much faster and lighter than Dante's, and that alone made him so much fun to play as. His quick and elegant fighting style was refreshingly different from Dante's more rough and heavy approach to combat. He also had his own abilities with short-ranged teleport and stuff. It felt like switching to him had more of a sense of purpose. Nero just feels like a poor man's Dante that you'd rather avoid when you have a choice I get that he's supposed to be inexperienced, but his sword-based fighting style is too similar to Dante's, in my opinion, and his other alternatives.. I'd rather save the orbs.

Re: General Games Discussion
The level design, especially in the latter missions, is one of the most common complaints and I totally see why. You start out in colourful cities and hotels, but then end up walking through the same fleshy corridors for the second half of the game. It's the one aspect that's a downgrade from previous games, though I appreciate how they removed puzzles and obstacles outright so you can get on with beating shit up.
Agree about Nero, too. The decision not to let us swap out a Devil Breaker without destroying it is baffling. It restricts the one unique thing he has that bridges the gap between him and Dante in terms of combo options. As it was, I only bothered using Punch Out and Rawhide because I didn't want to go through the hassle of swapping them out in between missions.
Anyway, apparently a data mine revealed there's going to be a co-op Bloody Palace mode soon, along with a new playable character.

Yea I am sure the quote was taken out of context and it was cleared up as false.
The stock price went over the roof for 2K for a while because of that

Stock price also probably went up because of Borderlands tease lol.
Besides i know fanboys would like it but it would be absolutely awful for the industry. It's not just Rockstar but Take Two so that includes NBA 2K etc etc according to the original rumor.
Microsoft might as well pack it in under the scenario, zero competition would be awful for everyone concerned.

Their tease fully confirms the next generation will be heavy on streaming/digital to me.
I'm not sure the world at large is ready tech wise but i guess we'll see.

It doesn't seem plausible, but the idea is interesting. In terms of their development process or the quality of their games, I don't think Rockstar would've changed much with Sony as their parent company. I have no doubt that it would make a substantial difference in terms of console sales, though. Microsoft are already at a disadvantage in regard to console exclusive, triple A developers. "Losing" Rockstar to Sony would've been a massive blow to them.

Re: General Games Discussion
Mole take an alternate perspective.
I've been observing Sony for years and a lot say they overall as a company have lost sight of the bigger picture by some poor decisions, executive moves and of course, their massive shift away from the world and back to the homeland.
Latter was a result of redevelopment and a form of rediscovery that has helped them as shown by their result more focused success, and essentially Sony is clearly coming out to make huge moves and within this year and they plan to go very big, and have the spending power to perform that move.
And if they do, that will basically be a killer haymaker to Microsoft.
Heed these words.
Heed.

I'm sure they could afford it and may even want to, but i don't think it's a good thing for the industry at large.
It would lead to a point of no competition and we've seen in other industries how bad that is.

For that, you are right.
Competition breeds excellence and none, breeds complacency.
Applies in every single aspect of life.
So yes for the industry, it would indeed be toxic.
Microsoft for the industry itself needs to step it up and I gander they will next gen, based on my observations of their movements.

Re: General Games Discussion
Think I remember someone on here saying that Playstation Now was "meh". It's library of games could be wider, but it's basically the Netflix of console games. I'm positively surprised by it. It's a subscription service, and you can stream and play any of the games in their library for a month. You can even download the games to your harddrive, if you prefer. Looks pretty brilliant, to me. Granted, it's doesn't have all of the latest, triple A, PS4 games. A large chunk of the library is PS3 games. Still, I can see a lot of games here that I've been wanting to play, but haven't bothered to purchase. I have a really fast internet connection, so it should work smoothly without having to download anything to the HD. Definitely looks like great value for money.

Re: General Games Discussion
It was at the time, they've drastically improved it over the last few months after MS basically forced them to do after the big success of Gamepass.
I expect it to be a big focus of the PS5.

Re: General Games Discussion
I didn't really like the first game that much. The concept is decently fun, but it had a Destiny- like, lack of substance, in my opinion. A lot of people clearly like it, and seemed to have a cult following on the internet, but when games like that sell well, the developers have no reason to add more substance. It's not that different from FIFA, in that regard.

Re: General Games Discussion
Fact is atmospheric shooters review meh (if sub 90 is your metric of meh) unless your BioShock, Doom was an 85 and Wolfenstein was a 79.
I knew this would happen and it doesn't bother me one bit, these type of games are just remembered more fondly once the players actually play them than the reviews actually indicate.

Also dropped DMC5 after mission 7 or 8
don't ever hype this shit to me
bland level design and aesthetic, numpty characters (V is WOAT), the female who upgrades stuff gives him a run for that award, overhyped gameplay
don't @ me and I'm not baiting
definition of a B tier game
bring on Sekiro

Thinking Division is actually atmospheric lmao
It's a Destiny rip off in boring present day garbage.
As for your DMC take, not even getting to Dante and giving your opinion makes that opinion null and void tbh.

Re: General Games Discussion
Stop being mean, Mole. It's not Firenze's fault that DMC5 and Yakuza 0 weren't more like.. the Fast and the Furious franchise.
Some people play games for a short while before they conclude that they're not going to enjoy them. I'm under the impression that both Firenze and RG fall into that category. There's nothing wrong with it, but it's probably a good thing that they don't review games On second thought, I think I'd enjoy reading reviews of games they don't like
