Arsenal Vs Everton
Tough match
Richarlison is back for Everton. We kinda struggle with tricky wingers. Walcott's homecoming as well. Bet he will score.
Doubt we'll keep a cleansheet. But hopefully we'll outscore them.

No point in hoping for a cleansheet. Just need to take all our chances.

Both Lacazette and Auba seem to have found their shooting boots, so that bodes well. Ozil and Ramsey need to start stepping up.

How nice of them to bench Tosun.
Torreira-XHAKA pivot. Interesting.

Re: Arsenal Vs Everton
About time Torreira starts. XHAKA against a lot of tricky smaller faster Everton offensive players is always risky, but hopefully Torreira can sweep that all up, or maybe even better, have an improving impact on him.

Would've preferred to see Iwobi over Ramsey but either way c'mon Arsenal!

Re: Arsenal Vs Everton
100% should be losing this.
It's the same problems we had vs Newcaslte in the first half. Midfield pivot and AM trio are detached from one another. Our only way forward has been to swing a pass out to our full backs but Everton are reading it and enjoying the space we're leaving at the back.
Biggest sign something isn't working is that Ozil and Ramsey are both anonymous. Very unusual for players who typically take a lot of touches.
The poor balance in the team = more stray passes = more chances for the opposition to hurt us in transition.

Re: Arsenal Vs Everton
I hope being bad in the first half is not going to be a common occurrence under Emery.

Re: Arsenal Vs Everton
Looks like Ramsey is playing as a LAM and Ozil RAM. There is no '10'
4-2-2-2 is one of the worst formations out there and we seem to be morphing into it.
Iwobi would be better than Ramsey in this system.

I don't know what to say. No link between the pivot and the attacking four not trio.

Re: Arsenal Vs Everton
We have a problem that too many of our best players are at their best in the same positions.

Re: Arsenal Vs Everton
The squad doesn't have the right balance. We knew this already but there's little we can do about it. Even if you bench a couple of them, who comes in? Mkhitaryan, another 10, or Iwobi, who also likes playing the middle. Or Welbeck, another striker.

Re: Arsenal Vs Everton
A world class finish from Lacazette and an incredibly lucky second from Auba has completely changed things.
Winning this would be robbery tbh.

Cech is my MotM. Ramsey still leaves a lot to be desired.

Re: Arsenal Vs Everton
It has to be one of Ozil and Ramsey from now on.
Play Iwobi/Mkhi/Welbeck on the right, let Ozil or Ramsey play as the 10.
Bin Ramsey and Welbeck in the summer, get a couple of wingers (or promote Nelson if he does well on loan). Promote Smith-Rowe to Ozil's backup.
Until then, just hope Auba and Laca keep banging in the goals I guess.

Re: Arsenal Vs Everton
Great 2nd half. Seems to be a pattern now.
Didn't concede which is great
6 points off the top now. 4 off 2nd place.
This is our season for sure.

Re: Arsenal Vs Everton
Imagine if we had proper defenders and a well-oiled midfield, we could have definitely challenged Liverpool and City.

Re: Arsenal Vs Everton
its 4-2-2-2 in attack
its 4-2-3-1 in defence.
Problem is in the transition between the two systems.
Jao moutino & banega type players would have worked magic.
Ozil/Ramsey need to to understand each others movement and get the team balance right.
